On the morning of November 13, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, the announcement ceremony and decision to appoint Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan as Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry took place.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Hoang Bach Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel ( Ministry of Education and Training ); Ms. Vu Thi Hanh, Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Head of the Party Committee's Organization Committee; together with the school's leadership, partners, officials, employees and students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.
At the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Bach Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel (Ministry of Education and Training) announced the decision to appoint Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan as Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry. According to the decision, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan will continue to hold the position of Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry for the 2025-2030 term, from October 20.
In his acceptance speech, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan pledged to devote all his intelligence and enthusiasm to leading Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, building a research university system in the digital age and continuing to consistently and effectively implement the school's strategic plan for the period 2026 - 2030 with a vision to 2040.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan expressed his thanks to the school's leadership, staff, employees and students for their support, unity and joint efforts for the school's overall development up to today.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan, 53 years old, graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry in 1995; a Master's degree in Veterinary Medicine from Los Baños National University (UPLB), Philippines in 2004; and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2008 from Chonnam National University, Korea.
Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan was appointed to the position of Associate Professor of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. He was Deputy Head of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine from 2008 to 2012 and Head of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine from 2012 to 2019 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry. In March 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan was appointed Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry. In August 2023, he was assigned the position of Vice Rector in charge of the school. In January 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan was recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training as Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry for the 2020-2025 term.

Established in 1955, after 70 years of construction and development, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry is considered one of the leading higher education institutions in the country in the field of Agriculture - Forestry - Fisheries. The school has a training scale of about 20,000 students, nearly 1,000 graduate students and about 80 PhDs each year. Currently, the school trains 36 undergraduate majors and 28 postgraduate programs (13 doctoral programs, 16 master's programs), of which 16 training programs meet AUN-QA accreditation standards.
