On July 26, the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Mathematics Association held its 7th Congress, term 2025-2030, to summarize the activities of the previous term, discuss new directions, improve the organization and propose strategic decisions to develop the Association in the right focus and goals.
The congress was attended by 200 delegates representing member organizations of the Association from universities, colleges and high schools.
The Congress elected 13 members of the Executive Committee, with the President of the Association being Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Hoang Quan, Rector of Saigon University.
At the Congress, delegates agreed on many important tasks and solutions for the coming term, focusing on improving mathematical research capacity, both theoretical and applied.

The Association aims to improve the professional level of research groups, establish and support strong research groups in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.
At the same time, promote cooperation with international research groups to promote the strengths of Vietnamese Mathematics in key areas.
A major direction is to promote applied mathematics research linked to the practical needs of industries, artificial intelligence, data science, mechanics, economics , biomedicine, finance, climate change and sociology.
The Association also pays special attention to promotional activities, spreading the passion for mathematics to a wide range of social classes, especially gifted students, mathematics students and high school teachers.
