The information was announced by Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information Le Quang Tu Do at a conference on online advertising organized by the department on the afternoon of July 30 in Hanoi .
The conference was attended by advertising businesses, major domestic and foreign digital platforms; representatives of brands; major media companies...
ViruSs was asked to stop livestreaming.
At the conference, Mr. Le Quang Tu Do evaluated online advertising activities in recent times. He said that in the past two years, advertising service businesses have had quite good awareness.
Large advertising agencies comply with the law well, but small and medium-sized advertising companies do not. Advertisers (brands) also cooperate well with state management agencies in complying with advertising laws.
However, Mr. Tu Do also has notes and requests for social networking platforms to perform better.
As he requested, platforms need to pay attention to not enabling monetization for pages and channels with violating content.
Currently, the three major platforms YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook all have this monetization feature.
That's why there's a story about streamer, musician, and music producer ViruSs livestreaming his love story and earning a large amount of money in just one live session.
Regarding this incident, Mr. Tu Do said that after ViruSs's live stream telling his love story on the evening of March 28, which caused 1.4 million people to watch and argue with each other online, on the evening of March 29, he called ViruSs through a channel and asked him to stop the live stream immediately.
ViruSs agreed at that time, but asked for 5-10 minutes to apologize to everyone. However, in just those 5-10 minutes, he sold quite a few comments to earn money.
After the ViruSs incident, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information also worked with TikTok to request that if there are any such livestreams in the future, TikTok must stop immediately.
“Platforms must cooperate with the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information to immediately block livestreams like ViruSs’s, instead of waiting for a resolution within 24 hours. The revised Advertising Law also stipulates that content that affects national security and disrupts public order must be blocked immediately,” Mr. Tu Do affirmed.
Mr. Tu Do expressed his hope that platforms would take note and take measures to discipline KOLs and KOCs so that they do not take advantage of personal scandals to cause disorder and profit from them.

Cooperation to make cyberspace cleaner
Regarding efforts to clean up cyberspace, Mr. Tu Do said that this year the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information is looking for ways to limit the appearance in newspapers, on platforms and on performance stages of artists and celebrities who have violated the law.
Although this regulation has not been institutionalized, limiting the images of artists and celebrities who violate the law will be implemented as an initiative to clean up cyberspace, and he hopes that platforms will cooperate and support it.
Mr. Tu Do said that Korea is planning to boycott artists and celebrities who commit violations without the government intervening through legal regulations.
Artist associations, advertising associations, artist management companies, and advertising companies sign a cooperation charter to boycott artists who violate the law. We have not been able to do this yet.
