First Annual Human Rights Media Award Launched

With the slogan “Happiness from simple things”, the Happy Vietnam Human Rights Media Award 2025 spreads happy moments in life, affirming Vietnam's achievements in the field of human rights.

The launching ceremony of the Happy Vietnam Human Rights Media Award 2025 took place this morning in Hanoi .

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

This is one of the key activities of the series of events of the Media Exhibition on Human Rights.

According to Mr. Le Hai Binh, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Happy Vietnam 2025 Award, Vietnam has the happiness that many other countries crave - that is peace, independence, and freedom.

Among 100 million Vietnamese people, each person will have their own happiness, but all are closely linked to the common pride of the country.

The Happy Vietnam 2025 Awards brings positive energy to all participants. The awards are organized in a very simple way, each person can capture the moment they think is the happiest, without any arrangement.

“Simple, everyday images are the most humane affirmation of a truly happy Vietnam,” Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh shared.

The Happy Vietnam photo and video contest was co-organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications (now the Ministry of Science and Technology) 2 years ago.

However, “this is the first time Happy Vietnam has been approved as an annual media award on human rights,” said Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of External Information and Grassroots Information - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

With the slogan "Happiness from simple things", the Happy Vietnam Award 2025 is organized to discover and honor meaningful stories in life.

Thereby affirming and spreading Vietnam's achievements in the field of human rights, affirming Vietnam as a peaceful, beautiful, dynamically developing country, a happy country, contributing to enhancing the country's prestige and position in the international arena.

Authors, whether professional or amateur, Vietnamese or foreign, from 15 years old and up can participate, with no limit on the number of works.

The deadline for receiving works is from May 22 to September 30. Address for receiving works and detailed information about the Award rules can be found at: https://happy.vietnam.vn.

The award ceremony is expected to be held in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Notably, there will be an Award for creativity in content and form of communication on human rights.

In 2025, Vietnam will rise to 46th place in the world in terms of Happiness Index, up 8 places compared to 2024 and 19 places compared to 2023.

This is an important milestone, demonstrating the world's recognition and appreciation of Vietnam's policies and achievements in ensuring human rights in recent years.
