(Haiphong.gov.vn) - The City People's Committee has just issued Plan 30/KH-UBND to launch the Patriotic Emulation Movement to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th Anniversary of National Defense Day in the city.

With the emulation theme: "Proud of the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, continuing the feats, worthy of the title of the Brave - Determined to Win Port City", the objective of the Plan is to continue promoting patriotism, revolutionary tradition, absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, the People, the will to fight and win and the glorious feats of the heroic Vietnam People's Army over 80 years of building, fighting and growing; affirming the core role of the Vietnam People's Army in building the all-people national defense and the cause of protecting the Fatherland; making cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces have the right awareness, motivation and determination to compete, creating a strong driving force to motivate collectives and individuals to strive to excellently complete assigned tasks.

Accordingly, the organization of emulation movements must be associated with activities to celebrate the 10th City Patriotic Emulation Congress and the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress; the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day to ensure solemnity, practicality and effectiveness; promptly discover, foster, commend, honor and replicate new models and new factors with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement.

The emulation movement will be implemented from now until the end of December 2024; The emulation content focuses on launching practical and effective emulation movements associated with promoting patriotic emulation movements, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; successfully implementing the goals and tasks of socio- economic development, national defense and security, emulation movements to implement target programs for 2024 and the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025; creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere, making achievements to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

Focus on widely propagating to cadres, party members and people of all walks of life about patriotism, national pride, history of revolutionary struggle, achievements in the cause of national liberation struggle, building and defending the Fatherland, arousing national pride, self-respect, the spirit of determination to fight and win of the People's Army, the glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the armed forces of the Port City "Loyalty - Determination to Win"; promote propaganda activities on National Defense Day, build a solid "people's heart position" associated with emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister "For the poor - No one is left behind", "The whole country joins hands to build new countryside" ... and emulation movements of all levels, sectors, political and socio-political organizations.

Organize activities to honor, exchange with historical witnesses, thematic activities, introduce historical traditions to the younger generation to propagate about typical examples and Heroes of the People's Armed Forces in the resistance wars, in the period of building and defending the Fatherland; honor heroes, war invalids, families of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution in the resistance war for national liberation, the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Promote activities of gratitude, remembering the source of drinking water and social security work; register and deploy practical, specific projects and tasks with profound political and social significance to help war invalids, families of martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution and local people to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and stabilize their lives; propagate and mobilize people to successfully implement the Party's policies and the State's laws.

Along with that, select, foster, discover and promote propaganda of advanced models, good people, good deeds, good, creative and effective ways of performing military and defense tasks on mass media, contributing to encouraging and motivating officers, soldiers and people of the city to compete to successfully complete the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, defense and security.
