Attending the launching ceremony were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Department of Culture - Sports , Department of Tourism; representatives of the Vietnam Musicians Association; musicians inside and outside the province.
The music composition campaign with the theme “Red River – Source of Emotions” aims to attract a large number of professional and non-professional musicians inside and outside the province to actively participate in composing songs about the Red River and Lao Cai homeland. Through this, new, high-quality musical works are selected to promote the image, homeland and people of Lao Cai; the meaning of the Red River associated with the beauty of the lands, people, revolutionary history, cultural identity of ethnic groups, the socio -economic development of Lao Cai province, as well as affirming Lao Cai's position as the gateway and economic bridge between the Southwest region of China with Vietnam and countries in the ASEAN region.
The content of the works will closely follow the theme and focus on depicting the prosperous development of the lands and the beauty of the Lao Cai people where the Red River flows through. In particular, the song is associated with the image of Lao Cai on the Red River, praising the patriotism, diligence and creativity of the Lao Cai ethnic people in the process of building, protecting and developing their homeland; depicting the Lao Cai people as "Solidarity - Patriotism - Discipline - Civilization - Hospitality".
The campaign is organized towards the Red River Festival 2024 which will be held with many activities in Lao Cai.
From July 15 to August 5, 2024, the Organizing Committee will receive musical works and organize evaluations, selecting the best quality works to award with a structure of 1 First prize, 2 Second prizes and 3 Third prizes.
