Launching the Music Month "Dien Bien Songs"

According to the President of the Vietnam Musicians Association, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh, the campaign to compose and promote songs and the "Dien Bien Song" Music Month is organized with the desire to arouse and promote the tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and the will to fight and win in the cause of building and firmly defending the Fatherland.

Through this, we deeply express our gratitude for the sacrifices of soldiers and people for the glorious victory of the country; honor the great contributions of generations of Vietnamese people in the cause of building a rich and prosperous Fatherland with the spirit of " Dien Bien Phu Victory - Vietnam's strength, the stature of the era".

Works participating in the Music Month need to demonstrate the great historical value, the great and profound significance of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory for the nation and the era; the heroic spirit, creative intelligence, intellectual fortitude, and determination to win of our army and people; the shining examples of soldiers, frontline laborers, youth volunteers... and all classes of people, forces serving the campaign; the economic , national defense, security, cultural and social achievements of the ethnic groups in the Northwest and Dien Bien province in the echoes of the Dien Bien Phu Victory over the past 70 years.

The participating works are songs composed in musical styles that are legally circulated in Vietnam. The organizers encourage musicians to explore and create new ideas in musical structure, lyrics, and performance methods...

Each author must submit no more than 2 works. At the same time, the songs must not be popular, and must have won prizes in any competitions at the central, local and other departments and sectors. The Organizing Committee will not consider awards for works that copy or imitate the ideas, melodies, and lyrics of other authors at home and abroad...

The Organizing Committee plans to award 1 first prize worth 100 million VND; 2 second prizes, each worth 50 million VND; 4 third prizes, each worth 30 million VND; 8 consolation prizes, each worth 10 million VND, and a number of other thematic prizes.

The deadline for submissions is April 24, 2024. The Organizing Committee will review the preliminary and final selections and post the final entries on the TikTok platform from April 25 to May 15, 2024.

The Gala Awards Night will take place on the occasion of the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024) in Dien Bien Phu city./.
