Global Road Safety Week was launched from May 15 to May 21, 2023 with many activities organized uniformly from the Central Government, ministries, branches, socio -political organizations to localities.

The National Traffic Safety Committee in coordination with the Hanoi City Traffic Safety Committee jointly organized the event at Cat Linh - Ha Dong station.

The message of the 7th Global Road Safety Week is to innovate thinking about traffic, hoping that people will participate in green - clean - safe traffic by changing the habit of using personal motor vehicles to using public transport and walking. Because currently, in Vietnam, nearly 90% of people still have the need to travel by motorbike or personal motor vehicle. Although flexible and convenient, it still has a high risk of traffic accidents and is the cause of traffic congestion and environmental pollution, especially in urban areas.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security , last year, an average of 17 people died each day due to traffic accidents - a decrease of nearly half compared to 10 years ago. In addition, the most specific propaganda campaign is "Obey the prescribed speed". This campaign aims to promote awareness and behavior of drivers nationwide about controlling vehicle speed when participating in traffic. Because the higher the speed, the higher the risk of collision and the more serious the consequences of traffic collisions can be. And the 7th Global Road Safety Week in Vietnam will start tomorrow and last until May 21.
