The Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, recently held a special issuance ceremony of the postage stamp set "Uncle Ho's stilt house in the Presidential Palace area".

Postage stamp set "Uncle Ho's stilt house in the Presidential Palace area".

The stamp set includes 1 stamp and 1 block with face value of 4,000 VND and 15,000 VND. The stamp has a size of 43 x 32 (mm), the block has a size of 100 x 70 (mm) designed by artist Le Khanh Vuong (Vietnam Post Corporation).

The postage stamp set “Uncle Ho’s Stilt House in the Presidential Palace” is designed in a concise graphic style. The stamp design depicts President Ho Chi Minh working in a small corner of the stilt house, the block design introduces the whole stilt house and the general view of the garden and fish pond around the stilt house. The stamp set highlights the elegant architectural features and simple decoration, making the stilt house a unique architecture, with its own nuances but very harmonious with nature.

Painter Le Khanh Vuong used dark brown tones combined with bright green in harmony with nature, creating a simple, familiar look that has practical meaning in educating Vietnamese people about the traditions and simple example of Uncle Ho.

Leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications performed the ceremony of signing the cover of the special issue stamp set.

Speaking at the release ceremony, Mr. La Hoang Trung, Director of the Postal Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) affirmed: Uncle Ho's stilt house at the Presidential Palace bears a strong historical mark, has entered the subconscious and hearts of all Vietnamese people as a priceless cultural and spiritual heritage, imbued with the ideology, morality and revolutionary qualities of a man devoted to the cause of national revolution, for the happiness of the people, for friendship, peace and progress of humanity.

Mr. La Hoang Trung said that the issuance of the postage stamp set “Uncle Ho’s stilt house in the Presidential Palace” contributes to fully and widely propagating to compatriots, soldiers nationwide and international friends about the life, career, ideology and revolutionary morality of President Ho Chi Minh. Thereby contributing to educating the young generation about the tradition of patriotism and revolution, cultural tradition; nurturing the next generation of revolutionaries, loyally and excellently continuing the great career of President Ho Chi Minh…

At the announcement ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Information and Communications performed the ceremony of signing the special release cover of the stamp set and stamping the souvenir, and the ceremony of signing the souvenir on the stamp painting.

The postage stamp set "Uncle Ho's stilt house in the Presidential Palace area" is available on the postal network from May 17, 2023 to December 31, 2024.
