Previously, on the evening of June 3, 2024, Market Management Team No. 4, Quang Ninh Provincial Market Management Department coordinated with Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch, Economic Crime Prevention Police Team and Mong Cai City Police to search the container and tractor driven by Mr. Tran Trung The (residing in Quang Ninh).
The product label only shows the date of manufacture, expiry date and storage instructions. There is a barcode, but product information cannot be retrieved.
At the time of inspection, the Inspection Team discovered 2,220 cartons containing 24,420 kg of frozen chicken feet on the vehicle. Each carton had an original label in a foreign language that did not show information about the origin, and there was no secondary label in Vietnamese. The product labels only showed information about the date of manufacture, expiry date and storage instructions, and there was a barcode, but no information about the product could be retrieved. The driver could not present invoices or documents proving the legality of the shipment.
Initially working with related subjects, the authorities identified the owner of the shipment as Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long (born in 1980, residing in Hai Duong province).
Working with the inspection team, Mr. Long said that all the goods he bought were floating on the market from strangers to sell for profit. The owner of the shipment said that before they could sell the goods, the authorities inspected and temporarily detained them.

Considering the case has signs of criminal offense, on June 6, Market Management Team No. 4 transferred all case files and evidence to the Investigation Police Agency of Mong Cai City Police for further investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
