According to information from Junglee Boss Company Limited (located in Phong Nha town, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh), during a recent cave exploration trip, the unit's survey team discovered a mysterious lake in a branch of Thung cave, in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
This lake is located about 1 km from the cave entrance, with a surface area of over 100 m2 , surrounded by stalactites. What is special is that the lake is about 15 m higher than the main underground river in the cave, so it looks like it is "hanging" on the cave wall.
Due to a lack of diving equipment, the survey team has not yet measured the depth of the lake, nor has it found a source of water flowing into it. Due to the unique location of the lake, the survey team has temporarily named it Suspended Lake.
In addition, the team also discovered a passage halfway up the wall of Thung Cave that crosses the main underground river branch.
According to Mr. Le Luu Dung, Director of Junglee Boss Company, the survey team will soon return to Thung Cave with more equipment to decode the mysteries surrounding Lo Lung Lake.
According to Mr. Dung, the cave system in Hung Thoong is very unique with many caves located deep in the strictly protected area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. This place is surrounded by a system of million-year-old limestone mountains and primeval forests.
It is known that since the beginning of 2023, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province has allowed Junglee Boss Company to pilot the tour to explore Hung Thoong.
