Many suspected human remains discovered in a cave in Nghe An

At around 1:30 p.m. on April 23, people in Nghia Thanh commune reported to the authorities and functional agencies about the unexpected discovery of two human skeletons at the entrance to Len Chua cave, in the border area between Nghia Thanh and Nghia Hung communes (both in Nghia Dan district).

At the scene, authorities discovered two skulls and several separate bones suspected to be human. Continuing deeper into the cave, authorities continued to discover more skeletons.

Afterwards, the Nghia Dan District Military Command coordinated with Regiment 26 (Ministry of National Defense) to approach the scene to inspect and assess the current situation. The area where the remains were discovered was determined not to be under the management of the national defense, but only within the national defense reserve planning.

The military force has handed over the case to local authorities for handling according to their authority.

The scene where the remains were discovered is being strictly protected by the Nghia Thanh Commune Police to coordinate with forensic agencies and specialized units to conduct appraisal and verification of the above-mentioned remains.
