On April 29, the Inspection and Supervision Team for State Management of Food Safety in Districts, Towns, and Provincial Cities (Inspection Team) conducted an inspection of State Management of Food Safety (FS) in 2024 and the first 4 months of 2025 in Khoai Chau district.
According to the report, Khoai Chau district has 1,818 food establishments. The leadership, direction and implementation of food safety and hygiene quality assurance have been focused on and implemented by all levels, sectors, organizations, and People's Committees of communes and towns. In 2024 and the first 4 months of 2025, the district granted food safety certificates to 54 food establishments. Nearly 900 establishments have signed a commitment to ensure food safety. The district has taken 225 food samples for rapid testing to assess food safety risks; organized 5 inspections on compliance with food safety regulations...
However, the district has many small food establishments, while the food safety force is thin and concurrent. Propaganda, inspection, and guidance on food safety and hygiene are not regular, mainly focusing on peak periods. Funding for food safety activities is still limited. In 2024, in village 5, Thuan Hung commune, Khoai Chau district, there was 01 food poisoning case that caused 12 people to be sick...
The delegation conducted on-site inspections at 6 food service establishments. The results showed that 2 establishments were not on the local food establishments list; 4 establishments did not have a certificate of food safety and hygiene; 3 establishments did not have a business registration certificate as prescribed.
The delegation requested the district to continue to fully implement the central and provincial directives on state management of food safety in the area; strengthen inspection and supervision of food safety, prevent poor quality food, smuggling, and commercial fraud in circulation and business; ensure hygiene and food safety at markets, supermarkets, shopping malls, and food service establishments... Direct the People's Committees of communes and towns to strengthen inspection and supervision of street food establishments, especially food sold to children at school gates. Promote the issuance of certificates of qualified food safety establishments...
