Detecting suspected counterfeit nutritional and micronutrient supplements for children

The Food Safety Department, Ministry of Health has just issued a warning about two types of health food products for children suspected of being counterfeit.

VTV news published some products of Herbitech Technology Company Limited - suspected of being counterfeit.

Specifically, according to the Food Safety Department, on the evening of April 24, Vietnam Television posted information that the Investigation Police Agency - Ministry of Public Security is currently investigating and discovering a number of fake and substandard food products, including 2 health protection food products suspected to be fake produced by Herbitech Technology Company Limited (address: Block 8, Phu Lo Commune, Soc Son District, Hanoi), specifically including:

1. Product EATING DELICIOUS BABY SHARK

2. Medi Kid Calcium K2 product

According to information from VTV, Baby Shark - one of the health protection food products produced by Herbitech Technology Company Limited, with the announced use of supplementing micronutrients for newborns who are weak, have poor resistance, and have poor appetite.

However, the investigation results showed that the appraisal agency determined that this product was counterfeit.

On many products of Herbitech Company, the raw materials are announced to be imported from the US, France, and Germany, but when information about the cost to produce these products is made public, many consumers are confused.

In order to sell products with signs of being counterfeit on the market, Herbitech Company used fake test results to produce, process and announce health food products.

The number of customers that this company processes and manufactures products is up to about 200 products.

Test results are one of the important bases showing the quality of product indicators, however, the police agency determined that many test reports of Herbitech Company had their indicator information edited.

The Food Safety Department recommends that while authorities are verifying and handling the case, people should not use the above two products until the police have a final conclusion.

The Food Safety Department will continue to closely coordinate with the police to promptly inform the people.
