Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot, Deputy Head of Emergency Department, Tam Anh General Hospital ( Ho Chi Minh City) said that among the 11 hospitalized patients, many were from the same family or company.
After receiving emergency care, 5 cases were transferred to the Gastroenterology Department for monitoring and intensive treatment, 1 case had to be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit - Anti-Poisoning Unit (ICU) because the patient was elderly with underlying COPD, 4 cases are continuing to be monitored in the Emergency Department and 1 case was discharged home.

Talking to a doctor at Tam Anh General Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. L. (Mr. H.'s wife, born in 1972) said that at around 10:00 a.m. on November 5, she bought 3 loaves of bread for 4 people to eat, including a maid, her mother, her husband, and her son. Immediately after eating, all 4 people showed symptoms of stomachache, diarrhea, and high fever of 38.5 - 39 degrees Celsius. By the morning of November 7, these symptoms did not improve, so they were taken to the emergency room.
Similarly, Mr. T. (born in 1986) and his wife, Ms. H. (born in 1991), also ate bread at the same bakery shop as Ms. Bich on November 5 and experienced similar symptoms to Ms. L's family.
Ms. V. (born in 1997) and her mother also ate bread at the above-mentioned establishment on the evening of November 5 and had symptoms of diarrhea and high fever in the early morning of November 6. Ms. V. bought medicine to treat herself but did not respond, the fever did not subside, and she was forced to go to the emergency room. Ms. V.'s mother also had diarrhea but to a milder degree and is being monitored at home, according to family members.

At the Emergency Department of Tam Anh General Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. L. (a company employee) who is being treated in the emergency room said that on November 5, her company ordered 20 portions from the above mentioned bakery. After that, all the people in the company who ate the sandwiches experienced pain, headaches, vomiting, and diarrhea many times. "About 6-7 people were hospitalized this morning," Ms. L. shared on the morning of November 7.
After examining and performing paraclinical tests such as blood tests, abdominal ultrasound..., doctors at Tam Anh General Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) diagnosed the patients with acute gastroenteritis due to infection. These are common symptoms in cases of food poisoning.

Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot said this is a condition where the stomach and intestinal lining are attacked by bacteria, causing abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever after eating contaminated food. The patient was quickly hospitalized for treatment.
According to Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot, at the time of recording the cluster of suspected food poisoning cases, the Emergency Department of Tam Anh General Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) had prepared a plan for all emergency situations. Patients admitted to the department were quickly treated, and the department was ready to mobilize forces to respond to the risk of the situation becoming complicated. Currently, Tam Anh General Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) has sent a quick report to the City Department of Health for a treatment plan.
