The Vietnam Association of the Elderly (NCT) is also a core force in building cultural life for families and communities. Implementing the Resolution of the 6th Congress of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the movement "The Elderly build culturally exemplary families" has been widely implemented, contributing to preserving good traditions and building a positive lifestyle in each family. The Association of the Elderly coordinates with various departments and organizations to promote patriotic emulation movements associated with studying and following the thoughts, morals, and style of Ho Chi Minh, such as the movements "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," "All people protect national security," and "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh"... Responding to the movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses," in 2024, the NCT at all levels actively mobilized and supported 960 million VND to build 16 solidarity houses for 16 poor and near-poor households. As of May 2025, the province had established and launched 45 intergenerational self-help clubs, attracting 2,600 members, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives and promoting the role of the elderly in the community. Currently, there are more than 1,500 exemplary elderly people in the province who are successful in business , not only achieving legitimate wealth for their families but also inspiring the younger generation with their entrepreneurial spirit and persistent work ethic, contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of the locality.
Promoting a spirit of joyful and healthy living, the elderly actively participate in cultural and sports activities, enriching their spiritual lives and maintaining national cultural identity. Currently, the province has 212 regularly operating elderly clubs with over 9,000 members, focusing on diverse activities such as healthcare, arts and culture, volleyball, folk dance, etc. In major festivals and events of the province, the elderly are always a core force, contributing to creating a unique, attractive, and vibrant cultural identity. Notably, in the mass sports movement, the provincial-level senior-aged volleyball tournament has become a beneficial playground, attracting a large number of members to participate. Many senior football teams in the province have achieved impressive results in regional and national tournaments, notably the women's team under 60 years old winning second place nationally in 2024. These events not only help members improve their physical fitness and boost their morale but also contribute to community cohesion and promote a healthy lifestyle.
The Vietnam Association of the Elderly (NCT) is not only a strong source of spiritual support in each family but also a positive and dedicated force in the socio-economic development of the province. Mr. Do Quang Son, Head of the Provincial Representative Board of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, stated: Building on the 84-year tradition of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, the various levels of the Association in the province maintain efforts to encourage members to live exemplary lives, live happily, healthily, and usefully. With their experience, prestige, and sense of responsibility, the province's elderly continue to affirm their important role in social life, spreading positive values, inspiring the younger generation, and contributing to building a more civilized, prosperous, and sustainably developed homeland.
