Promoting the role of trade unions in Van Ban district

In the mountainous commune of Nam Chay, the Hom Duoi Hydropower Joint Stock Company’s Trade Union has launched the “Thank you to the workers” program - a practical activity expressing gratitude to workers at the production site. Nearly 30 free meals were carefully prepared, not only ensuring nutrition but also spreading affection, sharing both materially and spiritually with workers.

As one of the first two grassroots trade unions of non-state enterprises in Van Ban district, the Hom Duoi Hydropower Joint Stock Company Trade Union has fully performed its functions of representing and caring for workers. The regimes on salary, bonus, and occupational safety and hygiene are guaranteed, creating conditions for workers to feel secure and stay long-term. Thanks to the effective cooperation between the trade union and enterprises, the income of workers in the district has gradually improved. The average salary in the administrative sector reached 9.5 million VND/person/month; in the production and business sector reached 9.7 million VND/person/month.

In addition to the task of taking care of people's lives, the Van Ban District Labor Federation has launched many practical emulation movements, arousing the sense of responsibility and creativity among the workforce. Movements such as "Good workers, creative workers", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", "Good advice, good service" ... have been implemented synchronously, associated with studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh .

At Chieng Ken Primary School No. 1, the emulation movement has become a driving force for the teaching staff to strive to excellently complete their assigned tasks. Teacher Nguyen Huu Hien said: “With the attention of the trade union, we have a positive, united working environment and conditions to promote individual capacity.”

From emulation movements, many innovative initiatives and effective programs have been spread, contributing to building a team of "Loyal, responsible, honest, and creative" cadres, civil servants, and public employees in accordance with the spirit of resolutions set forth by trade union congresses at all levels.
