Developing Thu Dau Mot to be worthy of being the political, economic and cultural center of Binh Duong

On March 5, Comrade Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Binh Duong province had a working session with the Standing Committee of Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee on the socio -economic development, national defense and security situation in the first 2 months of 2024.

Stable economic growth

At the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee Vo Thi Bach Yen reported to the working delegation on the implementation of socio-economic development, national defense and security tasks in the first two months of 2024 of Thu Dau Mot city.

Accordingly, the economic growth situation is stable, the total state budget revenue from socio-economic development in 2 months is estimated at more than 1,295 billion VND, reaching 31% compared to the provincial budget target and the Resolution of the City People's Council.

The city continues to implement the General Planning Project of Thu Dau Mot City until 2045; has submitted and received approval from the Provincial People's Committee for the local adjustment of the General Planning of Thu Dau Mot City and the local adjustment of the Zoning Plan of Phu Cuong Ward at the location of the Memorial Area of ​​Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac project.

The city is currently carrying out compensation and site clearance (GPMB) for 16 projects/67 hectares of land, and reclaiming land in 2,869 cases. Up to now, 52 hectares of land have been handed over, reaching 78%; compensation payments have reached 88%. In particular, the city has prioritized focusing on coordinating compensation and site clearance for key projects of the province passing through the area (Ring Road 3 Project and Upgrading and Expanding National Highway 13 Project).

The work of ensuring social security on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024 for people with revolutionary contributions, policy families, social protection beneficiaries, people in difficult circumstances, workers, visiting and wishing longevity to the elderly... has been carried out effectively and practically, the total cost of caring for and preparing for the Lunar New Year 2024 is 30 billion VND for 24,611 beneficiaries.

Up to now, 100% of businesses in the city have returned to normal operations after Tet (211 businesses with 19,114 workers).

Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee has directed the drastic implementation of solutions to carry out the tasks of administrative reform and digital transformation right from the beginning of the year with a spirit of urgency and determination; has properly implemented regulations on the order of handling administrative procedures according to the one-stop and one-stop mechanism. Strengthening guidance and support for people and businesses to access and use online public services to ensure the implementation roadmap set out in 2024. Exploiting and effectively using data from Thu Dau Mot Smart Operations Center (IOC); focusing on directing, digitizing data, and synchronizing data to promote functionality. Piloting the installation of integrated AI software to analyze and process images, detect traffic violations, and as a result, 236 cases have been detected and fined.

The national defense and security situation in the area is maintained, 100% of the military assignment targets for 2024 have been completed. Regularly launch attacks to suppress all types of crimes, transform the area, traffic safety and order, urban order; absolutely protect the safety of key targets, projects, and important political events, especially during holidays and Tet.

Unleashing resources for urban construction and beautification

According to the report, Thu Dau Mot City is currently mobilizing resources to continue investing in urban construction and development towards green, smart urban growth, responding to climate change; improving the quality of type I urban criteria, developing infrastructure, renovating existing urban areas associated with new urban development. In particular, the city focuses on drastically implementing the management, use and conversion of functions of public offices in the area, with the orientation of creating resources from public land and from those resources investing in the city's development.

Thu Dau Mot City Party Secretary Nguyen Van Dong said that by the end of 2023, the city will basically complete the list of public land, and at the same time adjust the number of public land plots used according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee. In that list, the city proposed 11 auction plots with a total area of ​​16.29 hectares. The city has issued a specialized Resolution on urban development for the 2017-2022 period, and has basically completed the key tasks; the city is drafting a Resolution for the 2024-2030 period.

At the meeting, the departments also discussed and contributed ideas to guide Thu Dau Mot in urban planning and beautification.

According to Director of the Department of Construction Vo Hoang Ngan, the general planning of Thu Dau Mot is currently being deployed for bidding, selecting a consulting contractor to develop the planning project, and Thu Dau Mot is requested to try to shorten the time to submit to the competent authority and submit to the Prime Minister for approval.

Regarding the Resolution on urban development of Thu Dau Mot in the period of 2017-2022, up to this point, the important goals have been basically achieved. The province's interest and expectations for the city are very high, so Thu Dau Mot needs to have orientation and clear resources to carry out the work of developing and embellishing the urban area systematically in a sustainable direction, worthy of the central urban area of ​​the province.

Regarding the urban drainage system, the city has paid great attention to investment and construction, however, flooding still occurs, affecting people's lives. Regarding this issue, it is recommended that Thu Dau Mot City, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinate with the Department of Construction to re-survey the list, determine priority investment in flood gates at the gateways, and select key locations and priority construction points.

Regarding the upcoming planning orientation for urban development areas and TODs, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to advise on 3 areas, and for the remaining 10 areas, Thu Dau Mot was requested to proactively carry out procedures, make plans to renovate and adjust zoning plans; the procedure process takes a long time, so it is necessary to focus on early implementation.

TODs are traffic hubs combined with urban spread. In Thu Dau Mot, there are many TODs along Ring Road 3, My Phuoc-Tan Van Road, and along major urban areas. The Department of Construction has coordinated with research units to make specific proposals. For the remaining urban areas, the city is requested to continue researching and proposing.

Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi highly appreciated the results that Thu Dau Mot City has achieved in recent times, many targets are higher than the provincial average and are a bright spot of the province in many fields; always excellently completing assigned tasks.

In 2024, it is forecasted that there will still be many difficulties and challenges, so the city must always be ready to face and resolve them, constantly strive to assert itself, not be satisfied with the results achieved, complete the assigned tasks well, and be worthy of being the political, economic and cultural center of the province.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that from now until 2025 is the peak period of emulation to successfully implement the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress, Thu Dau Mot City must create a new look, strengthen the urban beautification of green - clean - beautiful, in an ecological direction; carry out well the work of Party building, government building; continue to attract investment, remove difficulties for businesses, pay attention to social security, education, health care, housing, create jobs and livelihoods for people; take the satisfaction of people and businesses as a measure for development.

At the same time, accelerate key projects, focus on compensation and clearance work, and ensure housing for people. Ensure social order and safety, security and national defense; use information technology as a foundation to manage digital transformation and administrative reform...
