Vietnamese animation reaches China

On June 6, Leadjoy Cultural Media Company (China) and Sconnect Vietnam signed a contract to license the exploitation of Wolfoo's image for products and services in the Chinese market.

According to the signed cooperation agreement, Leadjoy will become a distribution partner for products in the WOA ecosystem (notably the Wolfoo IP) in the Chinese market. In addition to products such as books and stories, the two sides discussed plans to develop Wolfoo for the fashion , toy, stationery and gift industries.

In 2022, Sconnect licensed the Wolfoo cartoon to Leadjoy. According to Ms. Brie Yan, Global Marketing Director of Leadjoy, after being broadcast on many TV channels and online broadcasting platforms, Wolfoo quickly became popular in the country of a billion people. "Chinese children love the movie Wolfoo," Ms. Brie Yan emphasized.

Expanding the potential of this product, Sconnect has partnered with Leadjoy to exploit and develop the Wolfoo image for many fields, in which the publishing business is the first choice.

As planned, the first set of books and stories about Wolfoo will be available on Chinese retail channels from November 2023. In addition, Leadjoy will also bring IP Wolfoo to China Licensing Expo 2023 to introduce it to a large number of partners and potential customers.

According to Mr. Ta Manh Hoang, General Director of Sconnect, the potential and opportunities for cooperation with Leadjoy to expand the development of products exploiting intellectual property rights in the Chinese market are huge.

“China is a large and potential market. Leadjoy and Sconnect have many similarities in terms of products and target customer files. Therefore, we will continue to expand cooperation opportunities with Leadjoy - a reputable unit that understands the Chinese market,” said Mr. Hoang.

In addition to granting Leadjoy the right to distribute Sconnect's animation products in the country of a billion people, Sconnect is also willing to distribute Leadjoy's content and intellectual property (IP) products in Vietnam and strategic areas that Sconnect holds.

During the signing ceremony, Leadjoy visited Sconnect’s animation production process. Ms. April Mao, CEO of Leadjoy, expressed her admiration when witnessing with her own eyes how a “Make in Vietnam” animation is created.
