Welcoming the delegation to visit the National Assembly , Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh said that Vietnam and Belarus have a long-standing traditional friendship, which has been cultivated by generations of leaders and is a valuable asset of the people of the two countries.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, through Ms. Olga Aleksandrovna Shpilevskaya, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh expressed her gratitude to the Belarusian leaders for sending two delegations of high-ranking officials to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day on September 2.

The year 2025 marks an important turning point in the relationship between Vietnam and Belarus, with the two countries establishing a Strategic Partnership, during General Secretary To Lam 's visit to Belarus last May.
Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh highly appreciated the visit and work of Ms. Olga Aleksandrovna Shpilevskaya and the delegation in Hanoi and Hai Phong, working with the Vietnam Women's Union and signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Unions; emphasizing that the visits of high-ranking leaders and visits of the Women's Unions of the two countries are opportunities to share valuable experiences, especially experiences in gender equality and women's development.

Informing the delegation, the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly said that at the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee held on November 18, delegates discussed the structure of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels, with the goal of having at least 30% of female delegates participating in elected bodies.

The Vice President of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam is in the process of strong development. In addition to internal strength, Vietnam attaches importance to bilateral and multilateral relations and deep international integration. The year 2025 marks a turning point in the relationship between the two countries. This is also an important milestone for the relationship between the Women's Unions of the two countries.

The Vice President of the National Assembly hopes that the Women's Unions of the two countries will continue to share experiences and initiatives for peace and humanity, and experiences of women participating in politics, contributing to enhancing the role of women in the development of the country and the common development of humanity.
At the same time, it is recommended that the Women's Unions of the two countries actively implement the signed Memorandum of Understanding, focusing on promoting trust through cultural and peace initiatives and enhancing the role of women in political, economic and social life; increase information exchange on women's movements and the implementation of policies related to women and gender equality in the two countries.

Promote delegation exchanges and contacts between the leaders of the two Associations; consider inviting female and young parliamentarians to participate appropriately. Increase the sharing of information and operational experiences, especially measures to support women in promoting their capacity and enhancing their role in society. Closely coordinate in forums and multilateral mechanisms in which both sides participate.

Speaking at the reception, Ms. Olga Aleksandrovna Shpilevskaya respectfully thanked Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh for taking the time to receive the delegation and informed the Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly about the results of the work with the Vietnam Women's Union.

The President of the Belarusian Women's Union also expressed her impression of the results Vietnam has achieved in many fields and the fine traditions of Vietnamese women. At the same time, she affirmed that women of the two countries have many similarities and have made many contributions to the struggle for national liberation and national construction.

The President of the Belarusian Women's Union affirmed that she will effectively implement the cooperation contents of the Women's Unions of the two countries, contributing to the common development of the two nations; respectfully invited the Vice President of the National Assembly and delegates to visit the beautiful country of Belarus.
