Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung affirmed that the investment in building a system of inter-level boarding schools in border communes not only contributes to improving the quality of education and creating favorable learning conditions for ethnic minority children, but is also a vivid manifestation of the policy of "education is the top national policy".
This is a strategic project in developing human resources, consolidating the grassroots political system, preserving and promoting national cultural identity, and strengthening national defense and security at the border.

The project is implemented in 7 border communes including Ia Nan, Ia Dom, Ia Púch, Ia Pnôn, Ia Mơ, Ia O and Ia Chia, with the aim of building boarding schools with spacious scale, fully equipped with items serving the study, living and semi-boarding for students. This is an important step to shorten the educational gap between border areas and favorable areas, helping students to study in a safe, comprehensive and long-term development environment.
Accordingly, the project to build 7 inter-level primary and secondary boarding schools has a total investment of more than 1,516 billion VND, from the central and provincial budgets. Each project is designed to be modern, fully functional, including 212 classrooms, serving about 7,420 students.

Infrastructure and equipment are invested synchronously including classrooms, library, multi-purpose building, student dormitory, teachers' house, sports area, playground, internal roads and auxiliary works, meeting the standards of national standard schools in the new period.
Chairman of the Ia Nan Commune People’s Committee Nguyen Trong Quynh expressed his joy and gratitude for the attention of the Party, the State and authorities at all levels. “The new school is not only a place to nurture knowledge, but also a symbol of faith, a fulcrum for people in the border area to firmly step on the journey of development,” he said.

On this occasion, leaders of the Party, State and Gia Lai province presented many meaningful gifts to policy beneficiaries, teachers and students in difficult circumstances.
Although the gifts are not large, they show deep gratitude and give motivation for teachers and students in border areas to overcome difficulties and excel in studying and teaching.
Building schools in border communes is not only a correct policy of the Party and State leaders but also has long-term strategic significance, both serving educational development and contributing to consolidating border security and sustainable development of ethnic minority areas at the northernmost point of the country.
