Expressing sincere thanks to Dr. Yamakawa, President of JAXA, and all JAXA staff and experts for the warm and respectful welcome, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam identifies science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as the main driving force for rapid and sustainable development, in which space technology is a strategic field, and satellites are strategic products of the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the close, effective and promising cooperation between JAXA and Vietnam. Since 2006, JAXA has always been a reliable partner, accompanying Vietnam in many important projects - from developing small satellites to providing technical support, training human resources and launching satellites. These are the initial steps to create a foundation for the development of Vietnam's space technology industry.

In addition, the Cooperation Agreement between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and JAXA for the period 2023–2028 opens up new prospects in operating the Vietnam Space Center, training high-quality human resources and implementing space technology application projects to promote socio -economic development.
Particularly emphasizing the LOTUSat-1 satellite project - a symbol of strategic cooperation in the high-tech field between the two countries, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the two sides closely coordinate to soon put the satellite into orbit, contributing to improving the Earth observation capacity and development potential of Vietnam.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that JAXA continue to strengthen substantive and effective cooperation in the field of space technology and Earth observation satellites, including cooperation in human resource training and technology transfer; support the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to successfully implement the Government-level Project "Strengthening national capacity in Earth observation based on small satellite systems"; support Vietnam to improve its capacity for forecasting, early warning and effective response to extreme weather events through cooperation in using advanced Japanese satellite data, especially from the ALOS-2 radar system.
"I hope that cooperation in space science and technology between Vietnam and Japan will make many new strides, contributing to promoting the science and technology pillar in the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries," the Deputy Prime Minister shared./.
