Madam Ngo Phuong Ly presents Ao Dai to the Singapore Prime Minister's wife
On the occasion of the official visit of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam, this afternoon received Ms. Loo Tze Lui, wife of the Singaporean Prime Minister.

In a friendly and open atmosphere, Madam Ngo Phuong Ly expressed her joy at meeting Madam Loo Tze Lui again, believing that the visit would be a great success, opening a new chapter for Vietnam-Singapore relations.
Recalling her official visit to Singapore two weeks ago, Madam Ngo Phuong Ly thanked the Prime Minister, his wife, the Government and people of Singapore for the warm and respectful welcome given to General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the Vietnamese delegation.
Sharing her good impressions of the friendly and hospitable country and people of Singapore, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly said she was impressed with the orchid naming ceremony and will always keep deep feelings when returning to Vietnam. The new orchid named Papilionanda To Lam Linh Ly is still cared for by her every day and was also brought to today's meeting. Sincerely thanking Madam Ngo Phuong Ly for taking the time to meet, Madam Loo Tze Lui said this visit is of great significance to the relationship between the two countries. The Singaporean Prime Minister's wife shared that although her visit to Vietnam was not long, she visited some places such as the Museum of Ethnology and enjoyed some dishes, thereby feeling that Vietnam is a country with a long history and rich cultural traditions. The two ladies shared about the cultural values of each country, including orchids and lotus flowers, two flowers considered the national flowers of each country. In detail introducing the weaving method and respectfully presenting Madam Loo Tze Lui with a self-designed ao dai, Madam Ngo Phuong Ly introduced the history of Vietnamese ao dai and the meaning of the lotus flower on the ao dai she presented. In response to the special affection of Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, Madam Loo Tze Lui presented a painting of Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid - the national flower of Singapore. After the conversation, Madam Ngo Phuong Ly invited Madam Loo Tze Lui to enjoy water puppetry - a unique form of Vietnamese folk culture. Madam Ngo Phuong Ly hopes that through the water puppetry performances, Madam Loo Tze Lui will feel and understand more about the cultural life and outlook on life of the Vietnamese people. With sincere thanks to Madam Ngo Phuong Ly for her warm and friendly welcome, Madam Loo Tze Lui expressed her hope that in the future we will have the opportunity to meet again to share and exchange about the diverse cultures of each country.
