Dien Ban women share love with poor children

After 3 years of implementation, the model "Sharing love breakfast" launched by the Women's Union of Dien Ban town has attracted more than 82 thousand people to eat and support, helping to create a fund of nearly 2.1 billion VND to support many orphans and students in especially difficult circumstances in the area.

In June 2022, Vinh Dien ward was chosen by the Women's Union of Dien Ban town as the first location to implement the model of "Sharing love breakfast" in the town. With Quang noodles, the ward's branches organized sales at the cultural house of the block, which was enthusiastically supported by the people and women's union members.

Ms. Do Thi Luan - President of the Women's Union of Vinh Dien Ward recalled that in order to attract many guests to have breakfast, the branches had prepared quite carefully from choosing the location, preparing raw materials, processing to promoting communication work such as sending invitations to households living in the area, information on social networking platforms...

With the price of 25 thousand VND/bowl, each bowl of noodles sold will be donated to the "Godmother" fund and the "Million gifts to share love" program of the women's association from 5 - 7 thousand VND.

Up to now, after 3 years of implementation, 100% of communes/wards and women's associations in the town have organized the model "Sharing love breakfast" with 258 points, attracting 82,354 people to support, the fund collected nearly 2.1 billion VND.

Some localities have implemented the model quite well, such as the Women's Union of Vinh Dien ward sold 1,444 kg of noodles, raising 114 million VND; the Women's Union of Dien Tho commune sold 3,137 kg of noodles, raising more than 334 million VND; Dien Ngoc ward sold nearly 5,000 kg of noodles, raising 540 million VND...

From this fund, women's associations have regularly sponsored dozens of orphans and students in especially difficult circumstances, as well as supported and given gifts to members and women in distress and difficulty...

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nam Hai - President of the Women's Union of Dien Ban town, from a number of programs such as "Sharing love breakfast", fundraising sales, support mobilization... up to now, the union at all levels has sponsored and raised 466 orphans and children in special circumstances (including 161 orphans), the level of support from 2 - 12 million VND/child/year.

In addition, the association also sponsors 5 students in difficult circumstances in Dac Pre commune (Nam Giang district) with a support level of 3 million VND/year/student for 3 years (from 2023 - 2025).

Through the program "Godmother - connecting love", some communes and wards have done quite well, such as the Women's Union of Dien Tho commune connecting to sponsor 70 children, the Women's Union of Dien Tien commune connecting to sponsor 58 children, the Women's Union of Vinh Dien ward connecting to sponsor 50 children... The level of support is from 2 - 12 million VND/year/child.

In addition, the Women's Union of the town also organized the program "Meeting and honoring sponsored children who overcome difficulties to study well". In 2 years (2023 - 2024), 72 children connected by the Women's Union of the town to receive sponsorship and achieved good academic results were commended and rewarded, with a total cost of more than 157 million VND to implement the program.
