Capital women apply technology, innovate and create

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), Vietnam Science and Technology Day (May 18), from May 17-18, in Hanoi, the Hanoi Women's Union in coordination with Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized the event "Capital Women's Day applying technology and innovation" in 2025.

Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Kim Anh affirmed that the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation are decisive factors in the development of countries; they are prerequisites and the best opportunities for Vietnam to develop strongly. Science, technology and digital transformation have brought many values ​​to improve the quality of life of women.

According to Ms. Le Kim Anh, accounting for 50.4% of the population, present in all sectors and areas of social life, Hanoi women have been affirming their important contributions to the development of the capital, including in the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

Overcoming many difficulties and challenges, many female intellectuals, businesswomen, students, and workers have enthusiastically researched and created new materials and products, improved product quality and design, innovated production processes, and protected the ecological environment; female artisans are dedicated to their profession, applying technology to enhance products, build brands, and contribute to preserving and promoting cultural values ​​and traditional professions. Women in the medical profession apply scientific and technological achievements and high technology in modern medicine to improve diagnostic and treatment capacity, care for and protect public health.

In the agricultural sector, many women boldly apply advanced science and technology, develop high-tech agricultural production chains, ecological agriculture, and adapt to climate change.

Within the framework of the program, a discussion took place with the theme "Application of technology, innovation - opportunities and challenges for women in the digital age".

Through the sharing and discussion of experts at the seminar, delegates, officials, women's union members and students clearly understood the value of applying science and technology in many fields; proposed solutions to promote the spirit of innovation of women and female students in the capital, contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.

At the program, hundreds of science and technology application products, creative craft village products that bring convenience to women in work and life by 50 female scientists, programmers, female-owned businesses and female students of Hanoi University of Science and Technology were displayed at the Capital Women's Day of Technology Application and Innovation in 2025.
