After the arrangement, Phu Tho province has 1 university, 1 medical college, 3 vocational colleges in 3 regions that are self-sufficient in part of regular expenses, reducing 4 colleges.
Specifically, merging Hoa Binh Pedagogical College into Hung Vuong University.
Merge Hoa Binh Medical College into Phu Tho Medical College under the Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time, based on the approved planning policy, continue to research and build into a University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the period 2026-2030.
Reorganize Vinh Phuc College in the following direction: Transfer the Medical field to Phu Tho Medical College. Transfer the Pedagogical field to Hung Vuong University.
Merge Vinh Phuc College including the remaining units into Vinh Phuc College - Technology under the Provincial People's Committee.
Conduct appropriate mobilization and assignment of work for school staff to kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools as requested.
Merging 3 schools including Hoa Binh College of Economics and Technology, Hoa Binh College of Economics and Technology and Song Da Vocational College to form Hoa Binh Vocational College
For schools and centers under the Department of Education and Training, the number is basically unchanged. It is expected that there will be 154 units including: 103 high schools, 16 ethnic boarding schools, 33 vocational education and continuing education centers, 1 vocational secondary school, 1 specialized education school (increasing 1 school, Quang Trung High School).
For schools under the People's Committees at the commune level, basically keep the existing 1,928 primary schools, middle schools, high schools with many levels and kindergartens.
At the same time, consider merging small-scale, substandard kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in the same commune when there is direction and guidance from the Central Government; review school sites to invest and supplement resources, ensuring that schools meet standards.
