Phu Tho organizes a meeting to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam Photography Tradition Day

(NADS) - On March 14, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Phu Tho province coordinated with the Photography Association - Phu Tho Literature and Arts Association to organize a meeting to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam Photography Traditional Day (March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2025).

Attending the event were musician Cao Hong Phuong - Chairman of Phu Tho Literature and Arts Association; Artist Vu Manh Cuong, Executive Committee Member of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and all members of the Association.

72 years ago, on March 15, 1953, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 147/SL on the establishment of the "Vietnam State-owned Cinema and Photography Enterprise". Since then, March 15 has become the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Cinema and Photography Industry. Over the years, along with the construction and development of Vietnamese photography, the Vietnam Association of Photographers in Phu Tho Province and the Photography Association - Phu Tho Union of Literature and Arts have had many active activities, contributing to the overall development of the country's photography industry. Many of the province's photographers have won high awards in competitions, festivals, exhibitions... domestically and internationally.

Musician Cao Hong Phuong - President of the Provincial Union of Literature and Arts; writer Nguyen Thi Hong Chinh - Vice President of the Association, Editor-in-Chief of VNT Magazine awarded certificates of merit from the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts to collectives and individuals with achievements in creative activities in 2024.

Speaking at the ceremony, musician Cao Hong Phuong - Chairman of the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts acknowledged the contributions of members of the Photography Association over the years, emphasizing the important role of photography in reflecting the breath of life, accompanying the development of the province and the country. He asked members to continue to make efforts and focus on creating photographic works to reflect the achievements in politics , economy, society, national defense, security, etc., contributing to introducing and promoting the image of Phu Tho to friends at home and abroad.

At the meeting, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists awarded the decision to admit members and confer the title of Vietnamese Photographic Artist (A.VAPA) in 2024 to Artist Nguyen Huu Son; awarded the 2024 excellent photography award to Artist Nguyen Vu Hau, who won the Bronze Medal with the work "Navy Soldier" and Artist Do Thu Quyen, who won the Bronze Medal with the work "Unique shoe embroidery craft of the Xa Phang people in Dien Bien"; and awarded certificates of merit from the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to collectives and individuals with achievements in creative activities in 2024.

On this occasion, the Photography Association displayed 50 outstanding works of art photography, reflecting subtle perspectives on the landscape, life and people of Vietnam today in general and Phu Tho in particular.
