The 2023 High School Graduation Exam will take place in nearly a month. Currently, high schools in the province are urgently consolidating knowledge for students and organizing mock exams for them to perfect their test-taking skills . These activities help students achieve the best results in the High School Graduation Exam.

Focus on reviewing graduation exams

In recent days, teachers and students of the Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities have been actively reviewing and consolidating knowledge for students to prepare for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. According to Mr. Tran Duy Ngoc, Principal of the school, after the end of the 2022-2023 school year, every day, the school has increased the review of high school graduation exam subjects for 89 grade 12 students in the school. To help students review smoothly and achieve high results, the school has divided students who take the Natural Science exam into separate study subjects, and those who take the Social Science exam into separate study subjects. In addition, the school has also differentiated students with good academic performance and above to review separately; while students with poor and average academic performance have reviewed separately. "With this approach, from 2020 to now, 100% of the school's grade 12 students have passed the graduation exam. Many students have high scores and have been admitted to schools under Ho Chi Minh City National University," said Mr. Ngoc.

Currently, all high schools in the province are urgently reviewing and consolidating knowledge for grade 12 students, while equipping them with test-taking skills. Thereby, helping students confidently enter the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. According to Ms. Tran Thi Dieu, Vice Principal of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Tay Hoa District), in order for students to achieve the best results in the 2023 High School Graduation Exam, from the beginning of the school year, the school has both taught and consolidated knowledge for students, and organized remedial classes for weak students on Sundays. "Currently, the school has increased review for 407 grade 12 students of the school with graduation exam subjects from Monday to Saturday every week and reviewed until the day near the 2023 High School Graduation Exam," said Ms. Dieu.

Nguyen Thanh Tu, class 12C1, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Tay Hoa district), shared: “My review has been basically good so far, I am confident to enter the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. However, to be admitted to the Economics major, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, I have to increase my review. In addition to reviewing and practicing questions in class and at home, I also go online to download exam questions to improve my knowledge, practice my test-taking skills and grasp many types of questions to supplement my knowledge.”

Organize mock exams for students

To help students get acquainted with the 2023 High School Graduation Exam, high schools in the province all organize mock exams for graduation exams. The mock exams of the schools closely follow the sample exams of the Ministry of Education and Training and organize mock exams, thereby helping students get acquainted with the exam, the exam format, the methods, and test-taking skills. After the exam, for students who have gaps in knowledge, the school will immediately organize review, tutoring, and knowledge consolidation.

According to Mr. Huynh Xuan Mai, Principal of Pham Van Dong High School (Tay Hoa District), each school year, the school organizes three mock exams for grade 12 students. In the first mock exam, the school tests teaching and learning knowledge to assess students' abilities, from which it plans to adjust and supplement teaching in the second semester. The second mock exam is organized by the school in April, before the second semester exam to evaluate and continue to orient students. The third mock exam is in mid-June 2023, before the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. In the third mock exam, for students with low scores, the school will increase review and supplement knowledge for students; at the same time, advise and guide students with experience and test-taking methods so that they can do the test more confidently.

Tran Thao My, grade 12, Pham Van Dong High School (Tay Hoa District), shared: “After two mock high school graduation exams organized by the school, I felt like I was taking the real exam. Each exam helped me gain more test-taking skills and systematize my knowledge. For the types of questions I couldn’t do, I immediately went home to study and supplement my knowledge.”

Schools have focused on organizing mock high school graduation exams. Every school year, schools organize at least two mock exams for grade 12 students to familiarize them with the exam environment, the types of exam questions... to help them achieve the highest results in the official exam.

The 2023 high school graduation exam will take place from June 28-29 with the following subjects: Literature, Math, English and Natural Science exam with the subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Social Science exam with the subjects: History, Geography and Civic Education. The Department has directed schools to strengthen review and consolidate knowledge for grade 12 students, helping them achieve high results in this final exam.
