Hanoi Nguyen Tat Thanh High School andEducation Science High School both directly admit candidates who have won provincial-level excellent student awards and recognize their entrance exam scores to public grade 10.

In addition to 116 public high schools and 95 private schools, Hanoi also has three high schools affiliated with universities, classified as autonomous public schools. Thanks to their facilities and teaching staff, these schools attract the attention of many parents and students.

Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School under Hanoi National University of Education this year will enroll 360 10th grade students and maintain three stable admission methods: direct admission, selection and entrance exam.

Candidates must have achieved four years of advanced secondary school education or higher; have an average score of at least 6.5 in Math, Literature, and English in grade 9; and have completed the secondary school English program.

Students are admitted directly if they win first prize in provincial or city-level excellent student competitions in Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, or Science .

The admission group is for students from Hanoi. They will take the city's 10th grade entrance exam, using their exam scores to apply to Nguyen Tat Thanh School. The admission score is the total score of three subjects, including Math and Literature with coefficient 2, plus priority points. The admission fee is 130,000 VND.

The remaining option is the entrance exam. Candidates must take three exams: Math, Literature and English; the fee is 350,000 VND. Of which, Math and Literature take place in 90 minutes, English in 60 minutes. The admission score is the total score of the three subjects without multiplying the coefficient and the incentive points.

Nguyen Tat Thanh School will add 1-3 bonus points for the qualifying group if they win provincial or national excellent student awards and have international English certificates. The bonus points depend on the achievement. If they win multiple awards, the bonus points will be added together, but not exceeding 5 points.

From May 10 to 25, Nguyen Tat Thanh School will receive applications from candidates for admission, organize the exam on June 17 and announce the admission scores a week later. On July 4, the school will collect applications from candidates for admission, and the results will be announced on July 7. The school said it will only accept applications online, so candidates should prepare their ID photos before registering.

Successful candidates will be placed in classes based on their preferences and entrance scores. Next year, Nguyen Tat Thanh School will have four subject groups for grade 10 according to the new curriculum, focusing on natural sciences. The estimated tuition fee is 24 million VND per year.

The admission score is the total score of three subjects: Math, Literature and English, in which the English subject will be organized by the High School of Educational Sciences itself.

The remaining 10% of the quota is for direct admission, applicable to candidates who have won excellent student awards; provincial-level medals in arts, sports, science and technology, and those who are eligible for direct admission according to the 10th grade entrance exam guidelines of Hanoi city.
