Pleiku brings religious policy into life

Ms. Tran Thi Hong Nguyet - Head of the Pleiku City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission - said: "The City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission has advised the Party Committee to direct relevant levels, sectors and communes and wards to implement Plan No. 84-KH/TU of the City Party Committee's Standing Committee on implementing Directive No. 18-CT/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 25-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee (9th tenure) on religious work in the new situation.

Organize training and dissemination for key cadres, cadres and civil servants working in religious affairs; widely disseminate propaganda among all classes of people, in conjunction with the work of directing and organizing implementation. At the same time, pay attention to creating conditions for religions to operate in accordance with regulations, as well as promptly resolve issues arising at the grassroots level.

According to Head of the City's Department of Internal Affairs Nguyen Ngoc Thong: The Department advises the City People's Committee on state management of the religious field; at the same time, improving the effectiveness of performing professional functions and tasks on religious work, meeting the needs of religious organizations and the people's freedom of religious belief according to the law.

On the other hand, the Department also coordinates with relevant departments and branches of the province and People's Committees of communes and wards to organize for dignitaries, monks and followers to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on beliefs and religions.

Mr. Y Khum, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, shared: “The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee promotes mass mobilization work in religions in conjunction with building and consolidating the great national unity bloc. The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city regularly pays attention to building and consolidating the contingent of dignitaries, officials, and prestigious people among religious people.

Through them, we can improve the effectiveness of propaganda work so that religious people can grasp the guidelines, policies and laws on religious work, actively respond to patriotic emulation movements, live a "good life, good religion", increase charity and social security activities, build cultural life in residential areas, new rural areas and civilized urban areas. At the same time, we fight against the enemy's plot to take advantage of religion, contribute to maintaining security and order, and build the great national unity bloc".

Mr. Vo Phuc Anh - Standing Deputy Secretary of Pleiku City Party Committee: "Our Party and State always respect the freedom of belief and religion of the people. The results that Pleiku City has achieved after more than 20 years of implementing Resolution No. 25-NQ/TW of the Party Central Committee (9th tenure) on religious work have contributed to improving the effectiveness of mass mobilization work in general and mass mobilization work among religious people in particular."

According to Mr. Bui Van Hung - Chairman of the Local Council of the Baha'i Dien Hong religious community: "Over the past years, the Baha'i Dien Hong religious community has complied with religious activities in accordance with the law, actively contributing to the socio -economic development of the locality".

Similarly, Pastor Hanh - Member of the General Council of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) in charge of pastoral work in Gia Lai province and Manager of the Plei Cham Aneh Protestant Branch (Chi Lang ward) shared: “The local government and departments always create favorable conditions for the activities of the Church. In the second quarter of 2024, with the permission of the authorities at all levels, the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South) organized a Council to establish the Plei Cham Aneh Protestant Branch. To date, the city has 15 branches under the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South)”.

Plei Chuet parish currently has more than 1,500 Jrai parishioners living in villages of Chu A commune, An Phu commune and Thang Loi ward, as well as some neighboring communes of Dak Doa district participating in religious activities.

Mr. Y Doi - Head of the Parish's Administrative Board of Plei Chuet - said: "On important Catholic holidays, the Fatherland Front, together with local authorities and Party committees, visited, presented gifts, congratulated dignitaries and monks, and learned about the aspirations of the Catholic people. The people were happy, took care of their business, stabilized their lives, and actively participated in activities implemented by the locality."
