Last year, Mbappe sued his former club PSG for 55 million euros in unpaid wages and bonuses. The court ruled in Mbappe's favor, but PSG decided to appeal and has yet to pay the amount.
In April, Mbappe's legal representatives held a press conference outside the Eiffel Tower. The striker's side announced that they would take the case to the criminal, civil and labor courts. They also said they had asked UEFA to ban PSG from future European competitions.
At a recent hearing, PSG's lawyers argued that Mbappe did not provide enough evidence to prove the debt. Therefore, PSG is not obliged to pay the 55 million euros that Mbappe wants.
The French team cited a verbal agreement between Mbappe and President Nasser Al Khelaifi in August 2023, when Mbappe was removed from the club's plans for refusing to extend his contract until 2025.
In addition, the Ligue 1 champions also filed a counter-suit against Mbappe. PSG requested 98 million euros in compensation on the grounds that the player damaged the club's image and repeatedly delayed providing evidence.
PSG's lawyer stated: "Mbappe owes PSG money due to the delays that have affected us." PSG stressed that the goal is not to recover 98 million euros, but to prove the French striker wrong.
The dispute between Mbappe and PSG will likely be resolved at the Prud'hommes Court, Spain's equivalent of the Labor Court. The Frenchman's representatives are pursuing the case to recover the remaining €55 million.
