On September 11, information from the People's Committee of Quang Tung commune (Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province) said that a large fire broke out at a scrap yard next to National Highway 1A.
At about 7:45 p.m. on September 10, a 400-square- meter scrap yard located next to National Highway 1A owned by Mr. Nguyen Khac Trong (born in 1954, in Di Luan village, Quang Tung commune) suddenly caught fire.
Upon discovering the incident, many people tried to put out the fire. However, because the scrap yard contained many flammable materials, the fire broke out quickly, fiercely and spread, beyond the people's ability to put it out.

Local authorities arrived promptly to regulate traffic, mobilized 2 excavators and 2 dump trucks to support fire fighting and prevent the fire from spreading.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Force (Quang Binh Provincial Police) mobilized 3 fire trucks and dozens of soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.

By 2am on September 11, the fire was under control. The fire caused chaos in the residential area, fortunately there were no casualties. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
