Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province - said that the handover of the two artifacts aims to complete the national treasure, best promote the historical, cultural and scientific values. At the same time, serve the needs of research, study and sightseeing of the public.

At the reception ceremony, the Chairman of Da Nang City decided to award a certificate of merit to the government and people of Dong Duong village, Binh Dinh Bac commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam for discovering, preserving and transferring 2 details of the national treasure to the authorities.

Mr. Ha Vy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City - assessed the Tara Bodhisattva Statue as the most important artifact of the Cham Sculpture Museum. Since the statue was discovered, the lack of two important details has limited the value of the artifact.

Mr. Ha Vy affirmed that the snail and lotus details of the artifact symbolize purity, love and the growth of all species. Bringing these two details back to the original statue is of great value, helping to complete the treasure and Cham cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, two artifacts on the statue's handle, a snail and a severed lotus flower, were discovered by local people later and have been preserved by Quang Nam Museum since 2019.

The statue of Bodhisattva Tara was discovered by the people of Dong Duong village, Binh Dinh Bac commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam in 1978.

The statue is about 1,200 years old, cast in solid bronze, over 1.1m high, and is preserved at the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture.

Meanwhile, the two magical objects of the artifact, a lotus flower and a snail, were discovered later by people in Dong Duong village and were handed over to the Quang Nam Museum in 2019.

On September 26, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province decided to transfer two related details of the national treasure, the Tara Bodhisattva Statue at Quang Nam Museum, to the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture.

After 11 years of wandering, the 2 details were restored to their original state.
