The training was attended by hundreds of union officials at the provincial, district, and grassroots levels and workers and laborers at enterprises in Quang Nam .

In her opening speech, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of Quang Nam Labor Federation said that the environmental situation in Vietnam is increasingly worrying. Air pollution, water pollution, and household waste are notable realities.
In particular, plastic waste is increasing rapidly; a significant portion of which is not collected and treated properly, causing serious consequences for public health and the ecosystem.
“In response to World Environment Day on June 5, 2025 with the theme “Fighting plastic pollution”, this training course has practical significance in the current context, when the living and working environment are facing many challenges. This is an opportunity for each of us to raise awareness, review our consumption, living and working habits, thereby changing towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly direction,” said Ms. Anh.
Ms. Anh suggested that the staff participate in the class with a spirit of learning, seriousness, and active exchange to together acquire knowledge and spread good values about environmental protection to each unit, family and community.
At the training session, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Duc - Director of the Central Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Protection, conveyed to the trainees the contents of the current state of the environment in Vietnam, the working environment, causes and solutions for environmental protection and classification of household waste.

“For union members and workers - those who directly participate in production and live in industrial parks, factories and production facilities, equipping them with knowledge and skills on environmental protection is extremely important. Simple actions such as sorting waste at source, reducing the use of disposable plastic products, saving electricity and water... not only help protect the environment but also contribute to building a safe, healthy and effective working environment” - Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Duc said.
