Quang Ngai proactively regulates reservoirs

QNgTV- The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has requested the two largest reservoirs in the area, Dak Drinh Hydropower Plant and Nuoc Trong Irrigation Reservoir, to complete flood discharge from November 16. This is considered an emergency solution to create capacity to receive the heaviest rain of this period, forecast to occur from tonight until the end of November 18.

Proactively releasing floodwaters early helps Quang Ngai province control water levels on major rivers, especially Tra Khuc River, where deep flooding often occurs when floods rise quickly.

Quang Ngai province aims and strives to prevent floods from exceeding alert level 3, minimizing the risk of severe flooding in the downstream areas. Along with regulating reservoirs, the province also requires localities to review areas at risk of landslides, prepare evacuation plans when necessary, and ensure smooth communication to respond promptly in case the flood situation worsens.
