Attracting visitors with cool climate and cultural activities
At Mang Den Tourist Area (Quang Ngai), with its romantic scenery, wild features and cool weather, during the National Day holiday of September 2 this year, it will be an attractive destination for tourists to visit and experience.
Director of the Center for Culture, Sports, Tourism and Communications of Mang Den Commune, Vu Thi Hong Phuong, said that the locality will organize a Food Festival - Mang Den Market on August 31. A common food space will be set up with booths introducing traditional dishes and local specialties to serve the people and tourists; displaying and introducing agricultural products, traditional handicrafts, souvenirs and typical OCOP products of the commune.
In addition, on the evening of August 31 and September 1, there will be a cultural and artistic program organized with the participation of dance groups, singers, and folk artists to promote traditional cultural identity, contributing to creating a highlight to attract tourists.
Mang Den is over 1,200 m above sea level. This area has a temperate climate, so it is cool all year round, with temperatures not too high, only fluctuating on average from 16-22 degrees Celsius. It is surrounded by primeval forests and covers over 80% of the natural area. Due to the temperate climate, there are many flora and fauna living there, flowers blooming all year round, and beautiful natural scenery.
Famous tourist destinations in Mang Den such as Dak Ke Lake, Pa Sy Waterfall, the statue garden in Pa Sy Waterfall tourist area, Khanh Lam Pagoda, and the Virgin Mary statue worshiping area have welcomed thousands of visitors from inside and outside the province.
When arriving in Mang Den, in addition to visiting famous places, tourists can also enjoy unique culinary dishes such as bamboo rice, grilled chicken, and can wine.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Hoa, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said that the cool air and primeval forests make Mang Den truly poetic, making him feel more comfortable. This place is like a “miniature Da Lat” with primeval forests, lakes, waterfalls, pine hills, cool, fresh climate and peaceful space.
“The first thing I felt when coming to Mang Den was the wildness inherent in this place. Going out with family and friends after working days made me feel very happy,” Mr. Hoa shared.
To prepare to welcome guests during the National Day holiday on September 2, in addition to preparing adequate facilities and human resources, tourist accommodation establishments must strictly implement State regulations related to posting and publicizing service prices, ensuring fire prevention and fighting, security and order, and food safety and hygiene.
Currently, there are about 150 accommodation establishments in Mang Den commune. Up to this point, 90% of rooms have been booked in advance.
Mr. Le Ngoc Khiem, owner of the 3-star Le Khiem Mang Den Hotel - Restaurant, said that his facility has 30 rooms, with a capacity of over 100 people, and has fully booked rooms for August 31 and September 1.
“We bring interesting experiences to meet the needs of tourists. We coordinate with travel agencies to launch many attractive programs, with listed service prices and transparency to attract tourists,” Mr. Khiem shared.
Sup experience
Recently, the sport of SUP rowing on the Cua Lo - An Khe Lagoon river, Khanh Cuong commune has been sought out and experienced by many young people in the province because of its novelty and appeal.
Mr. Le Phuong Huy, a supplier of outdoor and tourism equipment in Khanh Cuong commune, shared that in order to attract customers during the holidays, he proactively promotes his image and offers attractive services.
At Cua Lo creek - An Khe lagoon, Khanh Cuong commune, visitors will explore the wild nature, enjoy the fresh air and challenge themselves with the unique overnight camping activity combined with Sup rowing. This activity is suitable for families, groups of friends, couples who love nature...
“From August 30 to September 2, we have a program to set up camp in the middle of nature, watch the sunset and starry night; experience relaxing SUP rowing or challenging on the clear blue water; experience fun, BBQ dinner by the campfire and enjoy local specialties,” said Mr. Huy.
The first time he tried SUP paddling at Cua Lo creek on the weekend, Mr. Pham Minh Tu was very happy to experience many emotions. Although he had been given specific instructions on how to play, he was still a bit nervous in the first moments of setting foot on the SUP board.
At first, he rowed while kneeling to get used to the feeling of floating on the water, then slowly stood up to row. However, when he lost his balance or encountered strong winds, he began to panic, and many times he had a “heart attack” because he was about to fall into the river.
“After getting acquainted with Sup, rowing downstream by myself, from the water surface I can admire the scenery of trees, the beauty of this place immersed in the golden sunset, far from the noisy, bustling city. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of life, gently gliding on the water, watching the poetic nature from a completely new perspective is a very special experience,” Mr. Tu expressed.
An Khe lagoon has a drainage channel to the sea through a small creek about 3km long, called Cua Lo, which is often filled with silt all year round. During the rainy season, when the lagoon is full of water, the sandbar at Cua Lo is pushed far out to sea. Five years ago, local people had to clear this channel to let the water drain out to sea to avoid flooding the surrounding area.
The careful and thorough preparation from tourism service businesses, along with the participation of industries and localities, promises to bring many interesting experiences to tourists coming to Quang Ngai, contributing to promoting and introducing the image of safe and attractive Quang Ngai tourism to tourists.
