
On the evening of November 25, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province announced that it had issued a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency regarding landslides in the Hung Vuong street area in village 3A, Khe Sanh commune.

On November 16 and 17, in Quang Tri province, there was prolonged heavy rain, causing landslides that broke and collapsed part of the house at 74 Hung Vuong Street, Hamlet 3A, Khe Sanh Commune and more than 10 neighboring houses in the area. Specifically, the landslide and slide area was about 170m long, the slope was 15m deep, 30m wide, with a total area of over 5,000m2 and is currently showing signs of continued landslides. The People's Committee of Khe Sanh Commune was forced to urgently evacuate 10 households with 45 people at risk of being unsafe.
In order to ensure safety of life and minimize damage to people and property, Quang Tri province will focus on implementing emergency measures such as: Closely monitoring the development of rain, floods and landslides. In addition, proactively warning, zoning dangerous areas, posting signs, arranging guards, controlling people and vehicles passing by to ensure safety; Arranging functional forces to regularly inspect the scene, if necessary, develop plans and organize forced emergency evacuation of households in accordance with regulations; Continue to review and organize emergency evacuation of households in areas at high risk of landslides. At the same time, urgently review surplus headquarters and public works to mobilize and arrange temporary accommodation for households in areas at risk of insecurity, ensuring adequate food, water, necessities and medical and hygiene conditions for people; Mobilize local forces, vehicles, and materials, military units, police, medical units, vehicles, and materials to respond to, rescue, and salvage in emergency situations...
