Quang Tri opens Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025

(PLVN) - On March 27, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held the opening ceremony of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025, marking 10 years since the province responded to this event. This is a meaningful activity to encourage reading culture, spreading knowledge to all classes of people, especially young people and people in remote and isolated areas.

Over the years, Quang Tri province has organized many practical programs such as: donating more than 30,000 books to schools, building 31 bookcases in disadvantaged areas, launching the movement "Books and Reading Culture in mountainous border areas", the contest "Reading Culture Ambassador", storytelling contest based on books, the discussion "Books and Life", "Reading for self-study in the digital age"... These activities not only help raise awareness of the importance of reading but also motivate the community to build sustainable reading habits.

In order for reading culture to truly develop strongly in the community, at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Minh Tuan requested leaders at all levels, sectors and localities to proactively develop plans to organize activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in a creative and effective manner.

Thereby spreading the message of reading culture to all classes of people in a profound way. Schools, teachers and parents should work together to create an ideal environment for reading. Encourage reading habits in every family, school, agency and organization. At the same time, honor and promote typical examples and outstanding contributions in the effort to build a civilized and developed reading community.

On this occasion, 3 collectives and 3 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements, contributing to the development of reading culture in the province.

Tại lễ khai mạc, Tiến sĩ Hoàng Nam Tiến, Phó Chủ tịch Hội đồng nhà trường, Trường Đại học FPT cũng đã có buổi chia sẻ, truyền cảm hứng với những câu chuyện thực tế, những góc nhìn sâu sắc về giá trị của sách và văn hóa đọc trong thời đại mới.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of the School Council, FPT University also had a sharing session, inspiring with real stories, profound perspectives on the value of books and reading culture in the new era.

In the coming time, activities in response to Book and Reading Culture Day will continue to take place in the province in many diverse forms such as mobile trips bringing books to all regions, the movement "Precious books for friends", the contest "Ambassador of Reading Culture"... Thereby, Quang Tri aims to build an increasingly developing community of book lovers, contributing to promoting the widespread spread of reading culture in society.
