On the morning of June 2, at the Examination Council of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province), many people were surprised to see an ambulance carrying a candidate to the examination site.
Ms. Le Thi Huong, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri, said that on the morning of June 2, more than 9,611 candidates in this locality took the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, taking the Math and English exams.
Among them, candidate Bui Phan Duc Tien (Nguyen Hue Secondary School, Dong Ha City) was in a traffic accident on the way to the exam site, breaking his leg.

Faced with this unexpected and special situation, Ms. Huong, Head of the Steering Committee for the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year in Quang Tri province, was present at the exam site of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted and asked for direction from the leaders of Quang Tri province to handle this case specially.
“Immediately, the examination board coordinated with the medical center to send an ambulance to take this student for an emergency X-ray and discovered that his leg had two broken vertebrae. However, both Tien and his family wanted to participate in the exam, so the doctors temporarily put him in a cast and took him to school in time for the exam. After only 30 minutes, Tien was brought back to the exam site and entered the exam room in time,” said Ms. Huong.

According to the records, to support candidate Tien, the exam steering committee and the Quang Tri provincial exam council allowed candidates to take the exam in a private room, take backup exam papers, and be supervised by police officers and medical staff. At the same time, an ambulance was arranged at this exam site to support emergency situations.
