
At An Ninh Secondary School (Truong Ninh Commune, Quang Tri), taking advantage of the water receding from the classrooms, the school mobilized all teachers in the school, some parents, and with the support of local police and military forces, to urgently overcome the consequences of the flood.
Ms. Tu Thi Hong Hoa, Principal of An Ninh Secondary School, said that during the recent flood, the school was deeply flooded, with the water level in the classrooms being about 0.3m and in the schoolyard being more than 1m. The school currently has 16 classes with more than 600 students, and had to temporarily suspend in-person classes and switch to online learning for a week to ensure safety.

According to Ms. Hoa, as soon as the water began to recede, the work to overcome the consequences was urgently deployed with the spirit of "where the water recedes, there is the remedy". Along with teachers and parents in the school, the police and military forces also joined hands with the school to overcome the consequences of the flood, so it was much less difficult. On the morning of November 5, the forces took advantage of the flood water to wash away mud in the classrooms, push the mud out, clean desks and chairs, school supplies, and rearrange and rearrange desks and chairs in the classrooms.
“Currently, the environmental sanitation work in the school campus is still being urgently carried out. It is expected that it will take 2-3 more days for the water to completely recede from the school yard. After the water recedes, the school will carry out a general cleaning of the school campus to welcome students back to school soon, ensuring teaching and learning activities,” Ms. Tu Thi Hong Hoa added.
Up to now, in Quang Tri province, there are still 65 schools and medical facilities flooded in many communes and wards. As soon as the water began to recede, the police, army, and social organizations gathered forces with local authorities to clean up and overcome the consequences, especially in residential areas, schools, and medical facilities.

Captain Le Quach Tinh, Secretary of the Truong Ninh Commune Police Youth Union (Quang Tri Province) said that during the recent flood, the Commune Police force proactively followed the area, propagandized and reminded people to ensure safety. When the water level rose, officers and soldiers directly supported deeply flooded families to move their belongings and evacuate people to safety.
After the flood receded, the police force continued to maintain control of the area. Dozens of officers and soldiers of Truong Ninh Commune Police were assigned to coordinate with local authorities to go to schools and medical facilities to clean up mud and clean the environment, contributing to overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. These actions not only demonstrate a sense of responsibility, but also demonstrate the solidarity and sharing of the People's Police with people in times of trouble and natural disasters.
Colonel Ngo Huu Tinh, Commander of the Quang Ninh Region 2 Defense Command (Quang Tri), said that the unit has sent 50 officers and soldiers to Ninh Chau and Truong Ninh communes, which are deeply flooded areas, to support flood relief. The force is focusing on supporting medical centers, schools, and offices of agencies and units in the area.

Currently, Quang Tri province has over 71 flooded locations; 40 landslide locations; more than 10,910 households/23,356 people flooded; 433 households/1,333 people isolated and 65 schools with 17,719 students absent. In the past 12 hours (from 6:00 p.m. on November 4 to 6:00 a.m. on November 5), floods on rivers in the province are receding but are still at alert level 1 to below alert level 2, especially Kien Giang river in Le Thuy is at above alert level 3.
Quang Tri province directed communes and wards to urgently organize environmental sanitation, disinfection, and restoration of essential infrastructure after the flood; focus on free treatment for the injured, visit and encourage affected families; review and summarize the number of households in need of food and water support, and arrange temporary accommodation; absolutely do not let people go hungry, cold, or without a place to live. Pay special attention to strengthening propaganda work so that people are not subjective after the flood, especially activities such as collecting firewood and fishing.

In addition, Quang Tri province directed the Department of Construction to organize inspections and promptly repair flooded, landslide, and damaged areas on traffic routes, ensuring smooth traffic. The Department of Health ensured medicines, chemicals, and human resources for emergency care, medical examination and treatment, and disease prevention during and after floods. The Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, and Provincial Border Guard Command arranged forces to support localities in overcoming the consequences of floods, cleaning up and sanitizing the environment, and supporting the repair of medical facilities and schools after the water receded, contributing to quickly stabilizing people's lives and activities.
