“In the two communes of Tam Hai and Nui Thanh, there are 441 families with 1,361 people in Binh Trung, Long Thanh Tay and Xuan My villages, which are areas directly affected by the storm. We have made plans, arranged vehicles and human resources to be ready to move people to evacuation locations, to avoid storms at the Cultural Activity Houses of the villages, the storm-proof house of Xuan My village, the commune People's Committee headquarters, the Police headquarters and schools in the area to ensure safety,” Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Tuy added.
Along with ensuring the safety of people in coastal communes, in areas at risk of storms causing shipwreck in An Hai Dong, An Hai Tay, Sam Linh Dong villages, Tam Quang fishing port, Long Thanh Dong village of Tam Hai commune and Trung Toan, Xuan Trung, Hoa My, Dong An villages of Nui Thanh commune, Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station has coordinated with local authorities to guide all fishing boats to take shelter from storms and anchor properly to prevent collisions causing damage and sinking of ships.
Bringing the vehicle to a safe anchorage at An Hoa Fishing Port, the owner of the ship with registration number QNa 917021 TS Nguyen Van Lam in Tam Hai commune said: After receiving information about storm No. 13 from the Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station through information channels on the ship, all vehicles and workers in the nearshore and offshore fishing grounds seriously implemented, bringing people and vehicles to anchor at a safe storm shelter. After anchoring the ship, absolutely no one is allowed to stay on the ship to prevent possible risks.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Hai island commune Nguyen Tan Hung said: To proactively respond to storm No. 13, the locality has coordinated with the Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station to unify the plan and is ready to fire signal flares to notify of the storm when directed.
After many efforts in proactively informing the weather situation and the path of storm No. 13 to the vessels operating at sea, by the afternoon of November 5, all vessels in the coastal area had entered safe shelters. For vessels operating offshore, through communication means, local authorities and the Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station resolutely called on and guided the vessels to move around, escape the dangerous area of the storm or enter safe shelters.
“By the evening of November 5, all the work of securing houses, harvesting seafood raised on cages, arranging boats in storm shelters, counting, counting, calling on boats to anchor and take shelter from the storm safely at Tam Quang fishing port, An Hoa fishing port, Tam Hai commune beach area, especially the plan to move households in vulnerable areas to safe places has been basically completed. On the night of November 5, Ky Ha Port Border Guard Station will continue to deploy storm warning flares when directed to help the locality proactively respond promptly and effectively to storm No. 13,” said Nguyen Tan Hung, Vice Chairman of Tam Hai Commune People's Committee.
