National Assembly approves adjustment of content of 9th Session, expected to close early

On the morning of May 15, under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, the National Assembly voted to approve the adjustment of the Program of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, with 429/429 total National Assembly deputies participating in the vote in favor.

Previously, presenting the Report on adjusting the Program of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung said that based on the opinions of competent authorities, the actual preparation situation and the proposals of the Government, the Prime Minister , and the agencies of the National Assembly, pursuant to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 91 of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly, Clause 5, Article 6 of the Regulations of the National Assembly Session, the National Assembly Standing Committee respectfully requested the National Assembly to allow adjusting the Program of the Session.

Accordingly, the time for the National Assembly to consider and approve before May 18, 2025, two draft Resolutions of the National Assembly on a number of special mechanisms and policies, creating breakthroughs in law making and organization and enforcement, and the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on a number of special mechanisms and policies for private economic development, will be adjusted to promptly institutionalize Resolution No. 66 and Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo, ensuring that the resolutions passed by the National Assembly are thoroughly understood and implemented immediately at the National Conference on the dissemination and implementation of Resolution No. 66 and Resolution No. 68 on the morning of May 18, 2025.

In addition, the Government has added 3 contents to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision, including: supplementing the state budget for regular expenditure (foreign non-refundable aid capital) in 2025; transitioning to apply a number of specific mechanisms and policies that have been allowed by the National Assembly to be implemented in a number of localities after restructuring the apparatus and expanding administrative boundaries according to the Party and State's policies; adjusting the investment policy for the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway Construction Investment Project, Phase 1.

In addition, a separate meeting will be arranged for one content. At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee has planned to adjust the order and timing of some contents to ensure suitability.

Accordingly, the National Assembly is expected to close on the afternoon of June 27, 2025, with a reserve date of June 28 and 30, 2025./.
