Preparation when constructing artificial turf field

Prepare the substrate

Before constructing an artificial turf field, you need to prepare the field surface by clearing away the old grass layer, leveling the field surface with specialized equipment. Then spray herbicide to prevent grass from growing and affecting the artificial turf surface.

With weak ground, it is necessary to construct a layer of geotextile to help stabilize the ground and prevent it from sinking later. This layer of fabric has the effect of preventing the penetration of the weak ground layer into contact with the base rock layer of the ground.

Lowering the foundation - Spreading base stone and gravel

Use a bulldozer to level the ground and sand to make the surface flat. Then spread small base stones on the surface of the yard.

Use a water hose to spray evenly on the surface of the yard to help compact the stone more easily. The base stone layer needs to be 10cm thick, use a roller to compact the soil.

Spread the stone and roll the base stone.

Note: Use a roller weighing about 10-12 tons to achieve a standard firmness of 0.9 to 0.95 and make the base flat with a slope of 0.3 to 0.5%.

Spread a layer of crushed stone mixed with stone powder to create flatness for the concave areas of the base stone layer, as well as to create smoothness for the ground. The thickness of this smooth stone layer should be moderate, not too thick, about 2cm is enough.

Create a drainage slope for the yard by pouring a layer of crushed stone and compacting it, creating a slope from the center of the yard to the edge. The height difference with the edge is from 6-8cm.

Construction of drainage system, curb

Construct the drainage system along with building the curb to ensure the width is 40-45cm, the ditch wall is about 40cm high, with a slope of 0.2%, the cover plate is 100cm long, 35cm wide and has 2 holes at both ends.

Step 1: Use the cover cutter to separate the cover. Bring the artificial grass roll to the location where it needs to be laid.
Step 2: Spread the grass by spreading the grass rolls evenly lengthwise or crosswise over the yard, making sure they are tightly connected together.
Step 3: Create border, white grass border:

+ Straight edge: Use a knife to cut and a ruler to cut to a width of 80mm.

+ Curved border: Use a knife and a pencil to create a compass according to the radius. Then trim and create an 80mm wide border to place the white grass.

Step 4: Use a spreader or a lawn mower to spread the grass evenly over the surface of the field. Use a spreader to spread sand and rubber granules evenly over the surface of the field.
Step 5: Spread a layer of sand 2.5~2.7cm thick, you can do multiple layers of sand
Step 6: Spread a layer of rubber granules about 0.8~1cm thick, on average from 5kg to 8kg for each square meter of yard. After completion, use a rake or weed whacker to spread evenly.

Step 7: Complete and hand over the field to the investor.
