Vietnam Education Publishing House has just coordinated with Tan Viet Book Company - Tan Viet Bookstore to organize a program to introduce the book series "Financial Education" for students from grades 1 to 12.
“Financial Education” is a series of specialized books on school finance, systematically designed for students from grades 1 to 12, in accordance with the 2018 General Education Program; standards on knowledge of the banking and financial systems of Vietnam and internationally according to an interdisciplinary method and compatible with the knowledge base of students in each grade.
The content of each class's books is divided into topics, each topic has lessons with a total estimated duration of about 35 periods (equivalent to 1 period/week), convenient to use when teaching.

The book series is more meaningful when published on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
The book series is also a concrete step in implementing the "National Comprehensive Financial Strategy to 2025, vision to 2030" approved by the Prime Minister , which clearly states: Financial knowledge needs to be taught to high school students, integrated with subjects and levels in the curriculum to enhance understanding and develop financial capacity and thinking for the younger generation.
To implement these policies and guidelines, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued a document guiding the teaching content in the second session programs for all levels, applicable from the 2025-2026 school year.
What is special about the book series "Financial Education" is that the author has used many folk songs, proverbs, idioms, short stories, everyday stories, old stories, national traditions and familiar cultural symbols to bridge the gap between financial knowledge and students.
The contents are designed to integrate financial and banking knowledge with moral education, life skills, and civic education. The book series meets the requirements of being easy to remember, easy to learn, easy to understand, easy to apply and is a necessary learning material for schools to choose to use for teaching the second session to students.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Members, General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House shared: Realizing the urgency of equipping students with financial knowledge and skills, and diversifying the source of content options when implementing 2-session/day teaching, the unit invited a group of authors who are experts with extensive experience in the field of financial and banking education to coordinate in compiling the book series, aiming to be able to put it into use for teaching in schools. The book series is also considered a useful reference document to improve people's knowledge, spreading financial knowledge widely to a variety of interested readers.
Regarding the current state of financial education and financial education materials in Vietnam, experts commented: In recent times, many financial education programs have been implemented in the community with active participation from agencies and organizations. However, compared to the requirements, Vietnam's financial education needs many changes to meet current requirements.

Besides, the current system of financial education materials is often scattered, unsystematic and mainly consists of foreign documents.
That leads to the limitation of popularizing knowledge suitable for the specific economic structure, culture, and awareness of our country. In fact, to raise public awareness about finance, it is necessary to have a teaching approach in general schools that is most effective.
