His name is Nguyen Xuan Son, he will play for Nam Dinh Blue Steel as a naturalized player. In August 2024, the Department of Justice of Nam Dinh province received Bezerra Fernandes' application for Vietnamese citizenship; the passport was issued on August 1 at the Brazilian Embassy in Hanoi .

After studying and examining the records, the Department of Justice of Nam Dinh province coordinated with the Nam Dinh Provincial Police and the Brazilian Embassy in Hanoi to look up and verify the identity of Mr. Rafaelson Bezerra Fernandes. As a result, the Nam Dinh Provincial Police have not discovered that Mr. Rafaelson Bezerra Fernandes has violated the law and engaged in activities that infringe upon Vietnam's national security.

Nguyen Xuan Son was born in 1997 in Brazil. He came to Vietnam to play for Nam Dinh in early 2020. This striker then went to Da Nang , Binh Dinh and then returned to play for Nam Dinh Blue Steel in 2023.

Nguyen Xuan Son in the Nam Dinh Club shirt. In the application for citizenship, sent to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, he clearly wrote: "After studying the Vietnamese laws on citizenship, I voluntarily submit an application to the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to grant me Vietnamese citizenship. I pledge to be loyal to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and to fully perform the obligations of a Vietnamese citizen according to the provisions of the Constitution and laws of Vietnam.

In the 2023-2024 season, Rafaelson exploded, making history as the player who scored the most goals in a V-League season with 31 goals. He and Nam Dinh Blue Steel won the V-League championship, won the Golden Boot title and was included in the typical squad of the season.

“I am very happy today. My dream of becoming a Vietnamese citizen has come true. I love this country and will do my best on the football field,” Nguyen Xuan Son shared.
