Returning to the year-end music scene with a live-performance MV titled "Người " (People), rapper Wowy affirms that he doesn't want to follow trends. Combining an opera orchestra and tenor Thế Huy, Wowy's "Người" is truly unique. Audiences can clearly feel how different sounds can blend together in a surprisingly harmonious way.

The rap song "Người" (The Man ), released on the evening of November 1st, continues to be a work that strongly reflects Wowy's "style"—always creative, with unique songwriting ideas in rap, allowing unusual or niche sounds to blend seamlessly with the genre. With "Người," the unique blend of rap language, modern hip/hop, and classical opera opens up a narrative musical space with interwoven narratives. It's both edgy and rustic, deeply meaningful yet explosive.
Against a backdrop of an unusual melody, there are sections that seem almost silent, conveying a sense of whispering yet with clear and distinct pronunciation. Then, suddenly, complex musical climaxes emerge with an operatic choir featuring interwoven soprano and tenor voices. Wowy's distinctive voice, rap technique, and diverse rap style, combined harmoniously with opera singer Thế Huy and the choir, make the rap song complete.
Wowy shared about the song: “It’s about realizing the inner self. Everyone has their own life, and when we realize that this journey of being human, full of ups and downs, is guided by a miraculous force, then ‘People’ is the most effective metaphor. People are our parents, our elders. People are our teachers, our companions, or even our ‘rivals’ who teach us lessons to overcome. People can be anyone on our life’s journey. People are always by our side, giving us strength, showing us the best way to move forward. Sometimes, they also help us face sadness, teach us to let go, and become more mature.”
In the work "The Man," the audience clearly perceives how different sounds—rap and opera—can blend together in a surprisingly harmonious way. |
Following the success of Rap Viet, Wowy has increasingly asserted his own distinct path, an unlimited combination of rap and hip-hop with classical music genres and special, meaningful themes.
“Fame will pass quickly. Many artists want to live in that fame every day. But Wowy wants to focus on pure music, where he can fully express his inner thoughts instead of constantly chasing trends that the world desires. I am still trying to delve into my inner values and hope to create works that will endure over time. Music always has a deep connection and bond with spiritual values,” Wowy frankly expressed.
