Portugal only need to beat Slovakia to secure their place in the EURO 2024 qualifiers with three matches to spare. With their good form maintained since the beginning of 2023, the task of winning three points is within reach of coach Roberto Martinez and his team.

Slovakia’s biggest achievement in this match was that they scored 2 goals. This was the first match that Portugal conceded under coach Martinez. However, the 2 goals coming in the second half were not enough to help the visitors get a point.

Portugal scored early with Goncalo Ramos netting in the 18th minute after a pass from Bruno Fernandes. About 10 minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty to double the lead.
