This year, the Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival will be held from February 22-24, 2024 (ie January 13-15, Giap Thin year). The festival is one of the activities towards the 300th anniversary of the birth (1724-2024) and the 233rd anniversary of the death (1791-2024) of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac.
Banners and billboards are hung on the main road to promote and publicize the Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival.
Right before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, Huong Son district organized the hanging of a system of billboards, posters, banners, flags, landscape decorations, flower carpets, ornamental plants... to create highlights, especially in central areas to promote the festival.
Cultural, artistic and sports activities have been and are being organized by localities across the district to welcome the new year 2024, celebrate the Party, celebrate the Spring of Giap Thin associated with the Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival.
Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac Church in Bao Thuong village (Quang Diem commune) has more flowers planted, decorating the campus to create a highlight.
Ms. Le Thi Phuong - Vice Chairman of Quang Diem Commune People's Committee said: "To prepare well for Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival, the locality has arranged human resources to do a good job of environmental sanitation, renovating Hai Thuong Lan Ong road section passing through Quang Diem commune and other roads in the area.
In addition, the locality has also coordinated with the District Cultural - Communication Center to unify the script and facilities to organize the procession, incense offering, and sacrificial ceremony. Prepare conditions to organize the open men's arm wrestling competition, folk games suitable for the cultural and festival space at Le Huu Trac church (Bao Thuong village) from February 20-23 (ie from January 11-14, Giap Thin year)".
The decoration and renovation of the cemetery and monument of Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac in Son Trung commune were completed before Tet to welcome visitors from all over the country to visit and worship.
In Son Trung commune, up to now, the preparation work has been completed. On the main roads of the commune, especially the roads leading to the tomb of the famous physician Le Huu Trac, the environment has been cleaned, the roads have been decorated, flags and banners have been hung...
It is known that Son Trung commune has coordinated with the district's Cultural - Communication Center to develop a script and prepare well the material conditions to organize the worship and incense offering ceremony; the procession and the ceremony to commemorate the 233rd anniversary of the death of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong at the tomb on the afternoon of February 22 (ie January 13, Giap Thin year). In addition, the material conditions and human resources for the banh chung wrapping contest, folk games, Minh Tu mountain climbing cross-country race... have been fully prepared.
Huong Son district has prepared boats and other facilities to best organize the boat racing festival at Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival.
In Son Giang, the conditions for organizing the boat racing festival on Ngan Pho River and folk games from February 20-23, 2024 (ie January 11-14) have also been fully prepared. It is known that this year's boat racing festival has the participation of 25 men's teams and 14 women's teams from communes and towns across the district.
Eager and excited to participate in the boat racing team of Son Bang commune, Mr. Pham Dinh Xat shared: "This year, the Son Bang commune men's boat racing team will compete with 24 boat racing teams in the whole district. We are currently looking forward to the opening day of the festival. Right before the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, our team took advantage of the time to practice on the Ngan Pho River. Hopefully, with careful preparation, the Son Bang commune boat racing team will achieve good results in this year's race."
Up to now, Tuong Son Pagoda has carefully prepared all conditions to organize the peace praying ceremony.
In addition to the active and thoughtful preparations of the localities, Tuong Son Pagoda (Son Giang Commune) has also completed the plan to organize a prayer ceremony at the pagoda. Accordingly, the prayer ceremony for peace and health at Tuong Son Pagoda will be held on the evening of February 23 (January 14).
The ceremony to pray for peace and health is expected to attract many people and Buddhists, so Tuong Son Pagoda has rearranged the space, decorated the miniature landscapes, creating highlights for the pagoda area. At the same time, it continues to organize propaganda activities about the festival through billboards, banners... and on social networks to create a spread.
With careful and thoughtful preparation, it is hoped that the Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival will be successful and leave a good impression on visitors. The organization of the festival will contribute to introducing the heritage values and potential advantages of Huong Son district to attract people from all walks of life and tourists to visit and worship. Through the activities within the framework of the festival, it will also contribute to propagating andeducating the tradition of patriotism, love for the homeland, and national pride for generations.
Up to this point, preparations for the Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival have basically been completed, and localities and units are ready for the opening day. In addition, propaganda and promotion activities for the festival have been actively implemented to promote the image closer to the people.
We believe that with careful preparation, the festival will be a great success, contributing to spreading the image of Huong Son culture and people to tourists from all over. At the same time, it will raise the status of Hai Thuong Lan Ong festival, towards the event of celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Great Physician at the end of 2024.
