The April 30 and May 1 holidays this year last for five days, and people's demand for travel has increased. Localities and tourist destinations across the country have made careful preparations, implementing many unique cultural and tourism activities, while strengthening inspection and control of services to ensure safety and civilization.

Many new tourism products

In Ho Chi Minh City, key tourist attractions such as the Independence Palace, War Remnants Museum, Cu Chi Tunnels, ancient architectural works in the central area have had their landscapes upgraded and signs installed.

Units have developed plans to regulate, divert and guide people and tourists to move smoothly to avoid the risk of local traffic congestion, especially in the parade area and routes leading to famous tourist attractions. The city has increased public bus routes to expand routes connecting tourist attractions.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Department of Tourism and travel businesses have designed many new tourism products associated with cultural and historical depth to create a special mark for the anniversary. 50 years of national reunification, such as community tourism products in Thanh An commune (Can Gio district), in Hoc Mon, the land of affection and spirit, or the tour "Nam Ky Luc Tinh" - from tradition to creative culture...

The exhibition applied many modern technologies, so it attracted a large number of visitors, especially young people, to come and explore. Nhan Dan Newspaper gave readers hundreds of thousands of copies of a special supplement about the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

Ha Long City (Quang Ninh Province) will organize the Ha Long Carnival 2025 on the evening of May 1. The city will launch three new products including: Coffee bus; hot air balloon flight to serve tourists to see the city from above in Tuan Chau ward and Hop on-Hop off sightseeing cruise to take tourists to visit tourist attractions from Bai Chay to Hon Gai and vice versa.

In addition, Quang Ninh has some additional products to serve high-income customers. Recently, tours to Ha Long Bay by luxury yachts and super yachts have begun to attract this type of customer.

The festive atmosphere has begun to spread to famous tourist destinations in Ninh Binh province. Green tourism products are on the rise

During the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year, the number of tourists to Ha Giang province increased sharply, estimated at hundreds of thousands of people. Most hotels, motels, and homestays in the districts of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark were fully booked.

In order to diversify tourism products to serve tourists during the holidays, localities organize a series of cultural activities and festivals. The Khau Vai market opened in Meo Vac district, and the H'Mong flute festival also opened on the evening of April 24.

Ecotourism, green tourism, and flower season tourism products continue to be promoted by many localities. Districts on the Dong Van Stone Plateau have planned temperate fruit growing areas such as peach, pear, plum, strawberry, etc. Localities have encouraged people to open their doors to welcome visitors to check-in during the flower season and experience fruit picking.

Comrade Ngo Quang Tu, Head of Tourism Management Department, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Cao Bang province shared that the locality has built many green, environmentally friendly tourist spots and areas to attract tourists. Among them, in Nguyen Binh district, there is Kolia Eco-tourism Area with lush green tea hills, flower planting areas forming a kilometer-long road of wisteria, pear, sim, and cherry blossoms, creating a sense of relaxation for tourists.

No price gouging

Many local accommodation establishments have launched many promotional programs, discounts and attractive services. Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang affirmed: "The tourism industry will coordinate with other sectors, localities and tourist destinations to ensure security, order and traffic safety; proactively inspect and supervise the public posting of prices and selling at the correct listed prices."

Ninh Binh Department of Tourism also set up a hotline, publicized a list of reputable establishments, and increased control to avoid "ripping off" tourists.

The Ha Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has publicly provided a list of 739 accommodation establishments including hotels, motels, guesthouses and homestays that meet standards for serving tourists.

Mr. Ngo Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of Meo Vac District People's Committee, said that this year's holiday season, Meo Vac is expected to welcome tens of thousands of tourists. The district has established an interdisciplinary inspection team to regularly control the service quality of accommodation establishments and restaurants, strengthen food hygiene and safety inspections, and post prices and sell at the correct listed prices.

Ha Giang Provincial Police have directed the traffic police force to mobilize 100% of its personnel on duty during the holiday, to prevent prolonged traffic congestion on national highways, especially on National Highway 4C and inter-district and inter-commune roads in the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark.

Ninh Binh Provincial Police have a plan to regulate traffic at Tam Coc, Trang An, and Bai Dinh tourist areas, ensuring traffic safety for tourists and a peaceful environment for local people.
