TTH.VN - On August 4, the Vietnam Institute of Environmental Economics in collaboration with the University of Economics, Hue University organized a national scientific conference on "Sustainable production and consumption in the context of climate change".
Transforming production and consumption towards sustainability is an effective and comprehensive approach to achieving the goals of sustainable development. Sustainable production and consumption is the use of goods and services that meet basic needs and bring about a better quality of life; at the same time, minimizing the use of natural resources and toxic materials; reducing emissions of pollutants throughout the entire product life cycle with the goal of not causing harm to future generations.
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing the main contents, such as the cost of reducing wastewater pollution in the seafood processing industry; climate-smart agriculture of households; developing organic agriculture, converting to a circular economic model, improving production efficiency and adapting to climate change in agricultural production, thereby promoting sustainable production and consumption in the process of socio-economic development of the country...
This workshop aims to find more solutions to support sustainable production and consumption activities; contributing to achieving the goals set out in the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption for the period 2021 - 2030.
